Enjoy Summer Inspired Dishes at Thirsty Lion

My calendar noted that the official start of summer was on June 20th. Truth is, Arizona laughs at calendars when it comes to the changing of the seasons. While I am more sensitive to heat than most I know, I have felt like Summer started at least a month ago.

Even though I can’t stand the heat of our Summer, I do quite enjoy when my favorite restaurants switch up their menu. Not only is it exciting to see what the changes are going to be, it shows that they care about the quality of their dishes. Using seasonally sourced ingredients ensures that they are the freshest available. This also provides the best flavors from the produce.

Today, I wanted to let you know about the seasonal menu available at Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill starting on June 23rd. This menu will be available at the Tempe and Scottsdale locations through September 15th.

So lets get into it! What’s new on the menu?

Shrimp Ceviche| $9.95
Marinated in lime and olive oil with habanero peppers, sweet onions, avocado, cilantro, tomatoes and jicama. Served with fresh corn tortilla chips.

Fresh Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad| $9.95 
Vine ripened tomatoes, fresh mozarella, basil and spring greens with white balsamic vinaigrette and maple balsamic glaze

Smoked Chicken and Pesto Pizza| $14.95
Spinach basil pesto, house smoked chicken, Kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes, four cheese blend and arugula salad

Mesquite Smoked St. Louis Ribs| $20.95
House smoked ribs, grilled with Newcastle BBQ sauce, roasted corn and red pepper succotash served with hand cut fries

Seared Atlantic Sea Scallops| $21.95
Flash seared with braised Tuscan kale, jasmine rice, fresh thyme and Meyer lemon beurre blanc

Grilled Wild Copper River Salmon| $24.95
Salmon from the Copper River is grilled with lemon and roasted garlic butter, served with mango quinoa salad and fresh heirloom tomatoes

Strawberry Rhubarb & White Chocolate Cheesecake| $6.95
Sour cream, fresh whipped cream, strawberry rhubarb puree and fresh sliced strawberries in a chocolate-hazelnut crust

Raspberry Mint Mule-Jito
Fresh raspberries muddled with mint lemon & lime, Bacardi Rum, Malibu Rum, simple syrup and Reed’s Ginger Beer

Paloma Margarita
El Jimador Blanco, fresh grapefruit juice, simple syrup and soda
