A SALUTE TO CHEF GLENN HUMPHREY

The culinary world mourns the loss of a legendary warrior, Chef Glenn Humphrey, Placement Director at Arizona Culinary Institute.

Raised in Connecticut, Chef Humphrey graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1974, and then traveled the world working at country clubs, hotels, restaurants and cruise ships.

As a Certified Executive Chef, and Certified Culinary Educator, Chef Humphrey touched the lives of countless students, serving as an award-winning chef instructor at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute from 1993 to 2001, and at Arizona Culinary Institute from 2001 to 2015.

Chef Humphrey was an active member of the Chefs Association of Arizona, as well as the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (CCAP) and his many friends and contacts in the gastronomic field resulted in a near-95% job placement rate for the graduating chefs at Arizona Culinary Institute.

Co-author of the book, “Creating Chefs: A Journey Through Culinary School,” Chef Humphrey also appeared on Food Network’s “Dinner: Impossible,” and when he wasn’t delighting students, family and friends with his gourmet creations, he could be found on the lonesome highways of backcountry Arizona on his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Family and Friends of Chef Humphrey are invited to a Celebration of Life at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) on Sunday, March 1; from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EVIT is located at 1601 West Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201. (480) 461-1000.

In lieu of flowers, Chef Humphrey’s family has requested that donations be made to:
