Blue Hound Kitchen goes retro

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love a theme. I’m also a little obsessed with anything having to do with the 50s. Imagine my delight to hear that Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails is hosting a 50s inspired cocktail pairing dinner.

Recently there have been many food trends taking over the culinary world; fusion cooking, cronuts, gourmet food trucks and the like. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t find anything wrong or take issue with any of these trends. Innovations in the culinary field are what keeps things interesting. The truth is, we all have those dishes or dinners that conjure up warm memories of mothers or grandmothers lovingly presenting dishes before you complete with ruffled apron and pearls. Okay, maybe sans pearls, but hopefully with the apron.

Blue Hound Kitchen’s Chef Stephen Jones is putting his spin on some old familiar dishes for Tuesday, July 30th, and I couldn’t be more excited. You’ll find no canned veggies or tv dinners at this dinner, only some delightfully playful takes on some old standards. For only $39 per person (not including tax or gratuity) you can have a reimagined taste of history. Break out your plaid smoking jack or pencil skirt and take a tiny step back in time and join me for a dinner paying homage to days-gone-by.
