Late-night Kaiseki dinner at Posh on June 12

If the thought of ramen reminds you of struggling college days when a 25-cent pack of Maruchan was all you could afford for dinner, think again! Chef Josh Hebert of Posh Restaurant in Scottsdale is bringing traditional Japanese cuisine (including ramen) to the late-night menu this Wednesday. If you’ve never had the pleasure of dining at POSH Improvisational Cuisine, you’re missing out on one of the most unique and exquisite culinary experiences in the Valley. Created by Chef Joshua Hebert, the modern multi-course “menu” is thoughtfully composed every day based on seasonal offerings, inspiration and the palates of each guest. The fare is globally inspired French cuisine, and whether choosing four courses or 15, Chef Josh and his innovative culinary staff focus on making the entire experience truly unparalleled. Without a set menu, you never know what you will encounter but you will always be delighted and left with a pleased palate!

This week, they’re hosting two special events:

Offered this Wednesday (June 12th) from 10pm-midnight, the ‘Japanese street food’ themed late-night menu will feature ramen (goma, shoyu, miso, shrimp, vegetarian, and two new flavors) and okonomiyaki (a savory pancake-like dish) priced at $10 each. The popularity of this Japanese street food has risen as of late and if you have visions of plastic-packaged squares complete with sodium filled packets, well, you’re doing it wrong! To wash it all down, drink specials will also be available.

We’re betting that after Wednesday night’s late-night feast, you’ll be inspired to create your own ramen dishes at homes. Take a lesson from the pro! We’ve got 6 tips on how to take ramen from a one-dollar meal to a high-end dish from Chef Josh Hebert.

Also this week: a traditional kaiseki dinner will be offered on Friday, June 14th starting at 5pm. The kaiseki dinner (a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner that evolved from the Japanese tea ceremony) will showcase the flavors of the season and weave diners through a precise and deliberate progression through flavors, from the most delicate to the most intense. Cost is $125 per person and includes paired beverages, tax and gratuity. Reservations are available from 5-9pm–be sure to call ahead.
