Save the date: 4th Annual Bite Nite set for June 8th

The ALS Association Arizona Chapter’s Bite Nite is returning for its fourth consecutive year and is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 6-10pm at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix. I had the pleasure of attending and judging the event last year and it’s definitely one you won’t want to miss! The culinary fundraiser allows guests to taste generously-sized samples from several of the Valley’s most-talked-about restaurants all while raising money to support patients with ALS. Trust me, you won’t leave hungry… or thirsty. There are plenty of sips and bites to go around.

More than 10 culinary concepts will dish out appetizers, entrée samples and desserts all while battling for the title of this year’s culinary heavyweight champion. Guests will be able to participate in both a live and silent auction. If you’re feeling particularly lucky that evening, you can also purchase mystery boxes which will contain some of the night’s most sought-after prize packages.

The cause of ALS is unknown and there is no effective treatment.  The illness is 100 percent fatal with most patients surviving 3-5 years from the time of diagnosis.  ALS may affect adults of all ages with the average age of onset around 55 years.  The ALS Association Arizona Chapter provides annual services to more than 350 families throughout Arizona.

Tickets to the Bite Nite main event are available for $125 at BiteNite.org. Follow them at www.facebook.com/ALSArizona or on Twitter @ALSAZ for event updates.
