While I am all about all things mid-century modern and love the pomp and circumstance of tradition, I also like to get a little sassy from time to time. Here is where the Tipsy Tea Party at The Camby meets both sides of my personality. I had the opportunity to get a preview of the new offering this past Friday and y’all need to know about this!

If you’ve visited The Camby you know that it’s a destination where you can expect the unexpected. From every corner of the property, you’ll find ideal backdrops for your selfies. From the restrooms to the elevator and everywhere in between you’ll find ample opportunities to impress your Insta followers.
The overall quirky and lively atmosphere of the property is proof enough that they don’t necessarily follow the rules of high-end luxury hotels. Their answer to traditional high tea is anything but proper!
“We’ve tossed out the rule book on high tea,” said Joe Martin, director of food and beverage for The Camby. “This whimsical weekend event is the essence of The Camby, providing guests with an urban playground that escapes the ordinary.”

All You Need to Know About The Camby’s Tipsy Tea Party
The Basics
You get can get down with the Tipsy Tea Party every Friday and Saturday 2pm until pm in The Bees Knees, The Camby’s intimate and luxurious bar. You’ll find classic movies projected on the walls, plush seating and lively music during your visit. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Not sure what tea to order, you’ll be provided with suggestions on pairings for your sweet and savory treats.
The Booze
You’ll find an array of cold and hot tea cocktails available. Instead of having a cocktail that was created and then mixed in with the tea, you’ll notice that with these cocktails the focus really is on the tea. The alcohol that is mixed in has been well thought out and chosen to emphasize the characteristics and nuances of the tea first.
The Bites
He’s not kidding! The savory selections will arrive at your table on a lazy susan, perfect for picking and choosing and sharing. There are no tea sandwiches here. The lively menu includes a savory mango crab avocado slider, fried cherry green tomatoes with preserved lemon aioli, aji Amarillo tater tot with caviar, herb ricotta and Iberico lomo bruschetta and a truffle deviled egg with potato chip dust. I am a serious lover of deviled eggs and there was something so special about Chef Singh’s version. The truffle flavor was present but not overwhelming and the potato chip dust added an interesting texture and a touch of approachability to this fancified treat. It was a definite favorite.
The Bucks
The Tipsy Tea Party will cost $40 per person and includes one of every dish from the prix-fix menu, a choice of tea cocktail served in a delightful teapot as well as a finale of sweet treats. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by calling 602.522.6655.
The Tipsy Tea Party is the perfect alternative to happy hour and I can guarantee that you and your friends will enjoy your time there. When you combine the ambiance, atmosphere, service and inventive offerings, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of the week!
