UnderTow is celebrating their anniversary with a new journey that is setting sail on September 10th. Check out all the new details and mark your calendars!

Remember how geeked out I was about the opening of UnderTow? Can you believe it’s been a year since they opened? As enamoured as I was by the initial opening, I am loving what they have in store for their anniversary celebration.

On Sunday, September 10th, UnderTow is embarking on an all new expedition. The award-winning subterranean bar will open with a new handwritten, hard-bound book of cocktails. If you’ve been, you likely caught the uniqueness of their cocktail menu and how they weaved a narrative around their cocktail options. The updated menu will feature 38 craft cocktails, 25 of which are all new recipes.

Menu highlights include returning favorites such as the signature Smoking Cannon served with fragrant cinnamon smoke, plus restored classics such as the kitschy-cool Lei Lani Volcano, a multi-island rum blend infused with coconut and shaken with pineapple, lime and guava, that was originally served at the Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World (and is available in a souvenir UnderTow coconut mug for a supplementary charge). Plus all-new formulations such as the fluffy, tangy and delicious First Mates Delight made with butter-washed 12-year-old Nicaraguan rum. But the real showstopper is the new Mallory’s Treasure, teeming with 18-year-old agricole rhum and Japanese whisky, and served table-side in the Captain’s crystal glass with an oversized diamond-shaped ice cube.

Wondering how you’re going to work your way through all of those new drinks? Well, UnderTow will now be open daily and with a new happy hour offered Monday through Friday from 4pm until 6pm.

If that’s not sufficient excitement for you, they have also enhanced their special effects within the cargo-hold styled space.

Jason Asher, one of the hotspots founders shared that “UnderTow was inspired by a classic clipper ship designed to move people and goods quickly across the oceans, but also built to stand the test of time. But this second journey tells an all-new chapter, and our menu is pulled from the captain’s field journal of the stories, adventures and new flavors he discovered along the way.”

This journey reveals the tale of a young stowaway from Shanghai, hitching a ride to America. The new cocktail menu reflects that journey with new items that highlight and showcase exotic imported goods like Asian citrus and tea, tropical orchid flowers and a globe-straddling collection of rums and other fine spirits.

I can’t wait to check out the new menu items. I mean, that Mallory’s Treasure has me feeling some kind of way!
