The Joy Bus Diner is Serving Up An Extra Side of Love

I love waking up to feel-good stories, don’t you? I have been waiting to tell you about the opening of The Joy Bus Diner for a while now and now its official!

The Joy Bus has been around for a while, doing good for the community since 2011. The organization was created to honor the founders friend Joy, who was affected by the devastating effects of cancer. Joy’s drive and determination during her treatment inspired all around her. The Joy Bus came about with the knowledge that a hot meal and a little compassion can make a world of difference to someone who is going through the struggle of cancer. As it turns out, sadly, many cancer patients are left to fend for themselves during treatment and The Joy Bus is there for those individuals. They help to relieve the burden by providing hot meals specified to the patients need, all delivered by a smiling face and an extra helping of compassion.

If you are looking to help out this great organization, you can visit the newly opened Joy Bus Diner. Here you can enjoy hearty and made-to-order breakfast and lunch dishes, knowing that every cent the restaurant earns goes to support The Joy Bus initiatives. You might think that because it’s all for charity that the food would be just okay, but that’s the best part.

What’s On The Joy Bus Diner Menu?

You’ll find chef inspired items like Patty Melts made with grass-fed beef, Rubens topped with house made corned beef brisket, a double-dipped crispy Chicken in a Biscuit. Breakfast items are equally enticing with dishes like Princess Poppy seed Pancakes stuffed with fluffy lemon and served with fresh fruit and your choice of sausage or Tender Belly bacon. How about a Roasted Chile Benedict with Arizona raised filet and “Woods Bread” topped with roasted chile hollandaise?

“I named it ‘Woods Bread’ because chef Clint Woods of Fox Restaurant Concepts taught me how to bake up this amazing house-made bread,” Caraway says. Additional supporters include Porter Barnwood, who donated the beautiful wooden legacy wall as well as produced a video about The Joy Bus featuring interviews with Chris Bianco, Pat McMahon, Sam Fox and more; 100+ Woman Who Care-Valley of the Sun, who donated funds to secure the space; Slab Designs LLC donated the gorgeous countertops; and Nu Age Surface Concepts who created the lovely concrete floor; G4 Builders; and Applied Engineering. Handsomely designed by Swan Architects, at night The Joy Bus Diner will host community events and cooking classes, as well as serve as the dedicated commercial kitchen for The Joy Bus’ weekly meal deliveries.
