Cinco de Mayo: Where to Drink & Eat in Cave Creek

We’ve highlighted some of our favorite celebrations around the Valley to make your planning a little easier:

A buffet of specialty and selected La Familia items are available from 5 to 10 p.m. Look for a taco bar, mahi mahi, carnitas, mariscos, steak mole, chile relleno, border shrimp, salsas, guacamole and campechana. Select tres leches, dessert nachitos or sopapillas fare offered for or dessert. Order a Mexican beer or a specialty margarita like Smok’n Guns, made with habanero chiles, and get a $2 discount. More than 50 tequilas are available.

The special entree is pork tenderloin and shrimp, spinach manchego enchiladas and black beans with cotij. The dessert special dessert is stuffed,creamed chayotes, house-made horchata and deep-fried ice cream. Featured drinks are the prickly pear margatini, made with Blue Agave Sauza Hornitos Tequila, triple sec, house-made sweet and sour, and prickly pear syrup, or a poquito picante margarita, made with Sauza Hornitos Tequila, sliced jalapeños, lime juice and house-made sweet and sour mix. Reservations required.

The special entree is coriander-dusted California halibut served with roasted corn, poblano pepper and cilantro fondue, ancho chile-roasted fingerling potatoes, tequila-lime butter and oven-roasted cherry tomatoes. The dessert special is stuffed, creamed chayotes, house-made horchata and deep-fried ice cream. Featured drinks are the prickly-pear margarita, made with Blue Agave Sauza Hornitos Tequila, triple sec, house-made sweet and sour, and prickly pear syrup, or the Tontorita, with Sauza Hornitos Tequila, triple sec, and house-made sweet and sour, with a salted rim.
