Ingredients
  • 5-7pound beef brisket(will yield 2.5 pounds)
  • .5tsp. fresh black pepper
  • 2large leekswhites and greens
  • 3small carrots
  • .5tsp. Italian seasoning
  • .5tsp. onion powder
  • 1Tbsp. kosher salt
  • 2cups warm water
  • 1cup ketchup
Instructions
  1. Preheat over to 450 degrees
  2. Set brisket in a roasting pan and rub with dry seasonings
  3. Bake uncovered at 450 degrees for one hour
  4. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees, cover and cook for an additional two hours
  5. Meanwhile, mix vegetables, ketchup and water in a large bowl; add to brisket. Cook for one to one and a half more hours.
