While only in their second season, Phoenix Rising is creating some serious buzz. (*Fun fact: the team’s Tempe stadium was built in only 53 days!) If you’re a footie and pizza fan you’re going to love the new Phoenix Rising pizza from Venezia’s.
“Venezia’s is proud to be the Official Pizza Partner of Phoenix Rising,” said Domenick Montanile, Owner and President of Venezia’s Pizzeria. “Soccer brings people together, just like pizza does, so this partnership is a winning combination in our book. As a local pizza joint, we’re more than excited to be a part of the action and show our support for a local team doing big things.”
“We loved that Venezia’s is family owned, Arizona based and have a fundraising component to their organization,” said Sam Doerr, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Phoenix Rising FC. “They have a strong commitment to our community much like we do. It’s very important to us that we support local businesses and encourage our fans to do so as well.”
Recently Phoenix Rising players Doueugui Mala, Joseph Farrell, and Gladson Awako joined Domenick for a lesson in making pizzas. After their instruction the players then created their own one-of-a-kind pizza. Fans were invited to vote for their favorite, a title which went to Doueugui Mala and that means you can now find his “Mala Pie” on the menu, a combination of pepperoni, grilled chicken and wait for it…French fries.
