You’ll find these delicious morning treats, along with illy coffee, on the Northwest corner of 40th Street and Indian School Road. The relaxed eatery has a family-friendly community feel was created by Sheri and Tom Schrader, who have had a life-long love affair with donuts. “I’ve literally had donuts for breakfast every day for the past 30-plus years,” Tom says. “I stop and get one on the way to the office, and on weekends I stop and get two. So, over the decades Sheri and I have learned the best donut shops in 50 markets across North America.”

I think it’s safe to say that there have been some pretty stellar donuts on that delicious quest. And that is precisely what motivated the move from the boardroom to the kitchen to get Masterpiece off the ground. The power couple have taken their extensive business knowledge to create their dream donut shop. In that they have created a space that is fast-causal, customer-friendly while still being highly-efficient and incredibly charming.

How does ordering at Masterpiece Donuts & Coffee work?
Make your way to the counter where you will be greeted with a friendly face along with any one of their freshly prepared treats. You can also order up your custom made vanilla cake batter-based donut. Customize your donut with vanilla, chocolate, maple, strawberry icing or go traditional with a simple, but delicious glaze. You can choose from toppings like rainbow sprinkles (always a classic), chocolate pearls sea salt, mini m&m’s graham cracker crumbs among others. They will also have a drizzle option which include a delicate dressing of vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate, cinnamon, raspberry, peanut butter or caramel.
Not feeling very creative first thing in the morning? You’re in luck with Masterpiece’s baker’s dozen of favorites which includes in-house created specialty donuts, all named after iconic artist like:
- Vermeer | glazed and topped with sea salt and a caramel drizzle
- Warhol | a colorful blend of chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles
- Picasso | topped with vanilla icing, crushed oreos and a chocolate drizzle
- Van Gogh | mini m&m’s are placed on top of a maple glaze and then adorned with a vanilla drizzle
- Rembrandt | iced with chocolate and topped with chopped peanuts and a peanut butter drizzle
- Monet | this thing of beauty is glazed and topped simply, yet elegantly, with sea salt and a delicate caramel drizzle
You’ll also find Wyeth, Renoir, Pissaro, Klimt, Michelangelo, Kahlo and Da Vinci on the menu, all masterpieces in their own right.

In addition to being your new morning go-to, Masterpiece want to be known as a community gallery and gathering spot. The space will feature three dedicated galleries to showcase local art for sale as well as a student art display that will feature works from nearby schools. They also plan to host several charitable fundraisers to support local nonprofits. Donuts do so much good for the eater and this spot will do that easily, but also work to continually give back to their patrons.
