Friday Bites With Matt Jacobi

Matt Jacobi lives the life that some can only dream about. He has worked on several reality shows, is featured on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, been a regular feature on E! News and the Style Network. Most recently, he has served as a style consultant on E!’s The Drama Queen as an image consultant. If that weren’t enough, he is also a regular contributor on Maria Shriver’s website and serves as an “Architect of Change” there. He pens articles that are inspiring and motivational, sharing parts of his personal life and private struggles to help others through their personal trials. Whether you are struggling with depression, looking for love, or struggling with confidence, Matt Jacobi has some words of wisdom that will help you along the journey of life.

I have found comfort and strength in Matt’s words and inspiration, and I know that you can too. While Matt currently lives in Los Angeles, as a former Phoenix resident, he finds himself coming back for friends, family and sometimes food and he has shared some of his favorite local spots with us!

Friday Bites with Matt Jacobi

Best Burger | The Stand

I have a true love affair when it comes to hamburgers. When I discovered “The Stand” located off of Indian School, it was the perfect example of why you should never judge a book by its cover. “The Stand” may not impress you with all sorts of glitz and glam from the curb, but once you sink your teeth into their delicious “Stand Burger,” you will be sold.

Special Occasions | The House Brasserie

I get super excited when I find a place that has history and charm (especially in Arizona!). For my birthday last year, my fiancé took me to The House Brasserie in Old Town. This cozy restaurant consists of a vintage house and a twinkly light filled patio for those cozy fall nights. The House offers top notch service and an elegant, romantic vibe that serves for the perfect setting for two lovebirds.

Best for People Watching | AZ88

AZ88 in Scottsdale will always have a special place in my heart. When I first came out of the closet, it was one of those places where I felt very comfortable. This dinner and drink hotspot always brings out an eclectic, stylish, and oh-so fabulous crowd. Besides the chic ambience and good music, you must order their “Hell’s Fire Chips” and one of their famous martinis.

Dinner With Parents | Caffe Boa

Let’s face it, parents can be picky eaters which is why Cafe Boa on Mill Avenue is my go-to when deciding where to eat with mom and dad. Their “Tuscan Ribs” are unbelievably flavorful and did I mention their menu is organically friendly? If you are not in the mood for ribs, you must try their steak salad. It is one of the best in town. PS. The restaurant has great lighting too! Major plus.

Dessert Spot | The Sugar Bowl

Where there is ice cream, there is Matt Jacobi. I have a slight obsession with ice cream so don’t be surprised if you see me at Scottsdale’s oldest ice cream parlor, “The Sugar Bowl.” This sweet pink palace has been serving sundae’s and floats since 1958! When it comes to dessert, keep it simple, keep it classic, and order one of Sugar Bowl’s hot fudge sundaes. You can thank me later.
