You heard it here first: The Lincoln Restaurant IS Coming!!

Remember last week when we told you that juicy rumor about The Lincoln Restaurant replacing BLT Steak at Camelback Inn? Turns out we were right, or rather our source was right!

I just got confirmation that Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 will be added to the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in October of this year. The Lincoln promises to include an outdoor demonstration kitchen that will create a unique and interactive dining experience.

What’s on the menu at Lincoln Restaurant and who’s going to be in the kitchen?!

Turns out that Chef Chris Neff, formerly of Meritage Steakhouse’s Chef de Cuisine, will be manning the kitchen in the new concept. Chef Nef has a strong history of drawing upon his childhood experiences in Texas creating modern classic comfort foods. The menu will spotlight simplistic dishes with a Camelback spin, which Chef Neff hopes will evoke the essence of the Sonoran Desert. You can expect items like hot black peppercorn “Yorkies”, a bite size version of an English Yorkshire pudding that will include hand-churned butter. Other stand out items from the new restaurant’s menu will include Chef Neff’s Country Fried Chicken with Lincoln Restaurant’s own smoked salt; a Lincoln Burger that will be made with house-ground Jojoba beef; and a Popcorn and Peanut Butter Mousse with an intense cocoa sorbet topped with a sweet and salty toffee popcorn.

“The atmosphere, menu and overall Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 experience we are creating will be inspired by the resort’s heritage and everyday desert surroundings,” said Chef Neff. “We will use quality products to create dynamic plates by tapping into Arizona’s native resources and sourcing only the best local ingredients.”

What about Bar 1936?

Bar 1936, named after when the property first started it’s journey in the Valley, will mirror Lincoln Restaurant with a robust signature selection of homegrown cocktails, focusing on house made mixers and craft ice cubes. As with Lincoln, the beverage offerings at Bar 1936 will predominately reflect Camelback Inn’s natural surroundings through both its concoctions and garnishes alike, using spirits from CaskWerks Distilling Co. and Arizona Distilling Company. Specialties include The Copper State Sour, with Park Rye Whiskey, lemon juice, honey from Crockett Honey Co. in Tempe, egg white and Lincoln grapefruit bitters; theAztec en Vogue, a unique spin on an Old Fashioned with Reposado tequila, mezcal, agave syrup, mole bitters and orange; and The Reanimator, a play on the Corpse Reviver #2 with CaskWerks gin, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, Absinthe and bitter lemon soda.

How is Lincoln Restaurant going to be interactive?

Additionally, Chef Neff and Camelback Inn’s beverage director David Kent have collaborated to create a unique and interactive experience at select bar tables, which will be adorned with a wine chime toasting bar. Designed for celebrations, the toasting bar encourages diners to toast occasions small and large. A special menu for the toasting bar will be comprised of shareable small plates, paired with hand chosen champagne, wine and cocktail selections.

Catering to both local Metro Phoenix residents and guests of Camelback Inn, Lincoln Restaurant & Bar 1936 will offer a community-oriented environment with an open air outdoor kitchen and pizza oven on the Chef’s Patio, and visually appealing cooking demonstrations, complemented by unparalleled views of Camelback Mountain. Nightly dinner and cocktail specialties also will be available for diners to enjoy culinary creations reflecting the season, along with a daily happy hour at Bar 1936 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

What are the planned hours once Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 open?

Lincoln Restaurant plans to be open daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bar 1936 will be open nightly from 4 p.m. to midnight.
