Scottsdale Firefighters Charities Annual Dinner

Scottsdale will be heating up September 25th, thanks to the 16th Annual “Behind the Flames” Scottsdale Firefighters Charities Dinner.

The dinner, held at Dominick’s Steakhouse, is sponsored by the Scottsdale Firefighters Association. This annual dinner serves to recognize outstanding Scottsdale firefighters.

This event will begin at 5pm with a cocktail hour on Dominick’s rooftop. After that guests will indulge in a luxurious dining experience with items like prime steaks, seafood and signature dishes at 6pm.

The Scottsdale Firefighter Association will welcome Charli Turner Thorne and Dan Harkins as featured speakers and guests of honor.

Charli Turner Thorne is known as the most winning-est coach in Sun Devil women’s basketball history. Arizona State University women’s basketball coach Charli Turner Thorne has led the Sun Devils to victory over and over again. She has racked up 354 wins during her 19 seasons at ASU, which currently ranks her second all-time among Pac-12 women’s basketball coachesThorne has led ASU to the NCAA Tournament ten times so far and to the school’s only Elite Eight appearances in 2007 and 2009.

Dan Harkins, CEO of Harkins Theaters, has been a leader in theaters and philanthropy for decades in Arizona. He grew up with a passion for movies passed down from his father, who opened Arizona’s first movie house during the height of the Great Depression. Harkins Theaters has since expanded across the state and there are currently 400 screens across the state as they continue to be the trailblazer in theater innovation in Arizona.

There are several charities that benefit from the annual dinner. This year some of those charities are the Boys and Girls Club, Scottsdale Prevention Institute, Scottsdale Gateway Alliance, Scottsdale Foothills Animal Rescue, City of Scottsdale Youth Deployment and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk.

Individual tickets for the evening can be purchased for $150. There are several sponsorship packages are available for the 2016 Scottsdale Firefighter’s Charities Dinner. The event has sold out in years past, so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
