Calling all chip addicts!

I have a secret that’s really not so secret. I’ve tried to hide it, but it’s become so overwhelming that almost anyone who knows me well knows… I’m a chipoholic. My top shelf in my pantry is dedicated to my ‘chip stash’ and more often than not, it’s overflowing and bags upon bags are stacked on top of each other just to make room.pasta chips

Now, I have a new addition to keep “in stock” — Pasta Chips.

When I first learned that a package of these new chips would be arriving at my doorstep, I really didn’t know what to expect. Would they be super crunchy and all spaghetti sauce-flavored? What would the texture be like? I was a little hesitant and, to be honest, pasta isn’t really one of my favorite dishes… at least, it’s not the first thing I’d order on a menu.

When they arrived, I was immediately impressed by the packaging. Each bag is brightly colored to distinguish between flavors, but in a pleasing way and not at all offensive. I’m a sucker for good design and typography and loved the look of these bags. It may not mean much to the next person, but it’s the little things in life that make me happy!

I tore into the first bag–the Spicy Tomato Herb–and took my first bite. The ravioli-square shaped chips are surprisingly light and thin, but still plenty crunchy. Once you take a bite, its texture almost melts in your mouth and then you need another… and another…….. and another. The chips are made with premium semolina flour and are oven baked (which means 60% less fat than your regular chip so there’s less to feel guilty about). Though they are thin, they still hold up well if you’re using them as a vehicle for your favorite dip. They pair extremely well with sour cream or yogurt-based dips or any creamy dip, really (think spinach artichoke or a hot crab dip… mmmm), but they are delightful all on their own too. They are packed crazy with flavor… definitely no skimping on taste here. Let’s just say that I received 5 bags and they didn’t last long in my house!
