Mother’s Day 2011: Where to Dine in the West Valley

Mother’s Day brunch menu includes the choice of roasted leg of lamb, honey-baked ham, an 8-ounce Prime Rib, 10-ounce Delmonico steak, Atlantic salmon or swordfish. A side will also be included, with the choices including sautéed asparagus, AG hash browns, maple mashed sweet potatoes, sautéed green beans, creamed spinach, sautéed mushroom and onion, baked potato, creamed corn or mashed potatoes. The special menu will also include Eggs Benedict, Surf and Turf and a roasted half chicken. Dessert will also be offered for an additional $5.99 and will include the choice of the restaurant’s signature butter cake, crème brulee vanilla, strawberries and chocolate fondue as well as chocolate bread pudding.

Treat mom to fresh farm-to-table fare at The Wigwam’s new signature restaurant Litchfield’s, a concept developed by James Beard award-winning chef Chris Bianco. Featuring a special locally-sourced menu for Mother’s Day, appetizer stations will offer organic chicken and homemade trumpet cavatellli, black quinoa salad with Crow’s Dairy feta, organic arugula and frisee salad and more. Brunch includes your choice of plated entrée from the following: Alaskan king crab fried egg benedict served on housemade green chili cheddar english muffin with cilantro hollandaise, pan-seared Idaho trout atop sage black barley, spring peas with citrus pistachio butter, Colorado lamb and shrimp mixed grill with a mushroom goat cheese tart and spinach, chile-crusted pork tenderloin served with brown rice sweet potato risotto and orange marmalade, and rosemary and honey roasted prime rib with parsnip garlic mash, rainbow baby carrots. For dessert, a chef’s station of unlimited apple tartines, organic fruit tarts, chocolate kiss tortes and white chocolate Milano cake. Pricing: $55 for adults, $20 for children and complimentary for children under 5.

Overlooking the golf course fairways, enjoy a traditional holiday buffet with everyone’s favorites. Start with a fruit stand-style selection of fresh-squeezed Arizona citrus smoothies and strawberries in a lavender-Riesling reduction; and appetizer stations offering waldorf salad, caprese salad, orange poached prawns and crab claw towers. Chef stations featuring made-to-order omelets, herb-rubbed prime rib and entrée stations including cast iron blackened tilapia, mango-glazed airline chicken and sides like berry bread pudding, savory sausage hash and spring harvest vegetables. For dessert, a chef’s selection of sweet delights. Pricing: $45 for adults, $20 for children and complimentary for children under 5.
