“Worst Cooks in America” Cast Member Eric Ricupero Shares an Interview

Eric Ricupero, a cast member of Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America” recently answered a few questions for us about his passion to learn to cook and his favorite meals.

Eric, 34, from Quincy, is a bar owner and knows a lot about the hospitality business – just not the kitchen. He thinks that if he can learn to cook he will be able to serve food at his bar, run a kitchen with confidence, and help save his failing business.

PhoenixBites Interview with Eric Ricupero

PhoenixBites: Of all your favorite meals, what one dish would you like to learn to master?

Eric Ricupero: I’d love to learn to prepare a perfectly cooked, juicy steak on a stovetop. Since I can’t grill at my apartment my steaks always come out grey & dry or burnt on the outside, while still rare in the middle.

PhoenixBites: Is there a person (chef, home cook, family member, etc.) that has inspired you to sharpen your culinary abilities?

Eric Ricupero: I’m inspired by all my aunts who host the holidays. They prepare 4-courses for 20 people and everything always comes out great! I wish I could do that.

PhoenixBites: Any advice you can give to our readers who may be beginners in the kitchen?

Eric Ricupero: Get organized before you start cooking! It will save you time and aggravation later and gives you the best chance for success.
