Tocaya Organica Opens at Scottsdale Fashion Square

Posted on: June 20th, 2019 by Kelly Potts No Comments

Tocaya Organica has officially opened it’s second Scottsdale location, in Scottsdale Fashion Square. The SoCal eatery also has a location in Keirland.

Originally created by Tosh Berman, the versatile menu from Tocaya Organica’s Director of Culinary AJ McCloud is rooted in traditional Mexican recipes and accommodates a variety of dietary preferences ranging from vegan and gluten-free to vegetarian and KETO.

Using high-quality produce as the foundation of its seasonally-rotating menu, each dish starts vegan with chef’s recommendations for protein and dairy additions, if desired.

Tocaya Organica chips and salsa

Serving lunch, happy hour, or dinner, signature dishes including the Fajita Del Rey bowl with sautéed peppers and onions, cilantro lime rice, black beans, vegan chipotle crema, guacamole, and pico de gallo; Barrio Tacos with jalapeño jack, roasted tomato salsa, avocado, diced red onion, and cilantro; new Guiltless Gluten-Free Burrito with Spanish cauliflower rice, black beans, tri-color peppers, jalapeño cabbage, and vegan chipotle crema in a Siete gluten-free coconut and cassava flour tortilla; and Mushroom & Jalapeño Quesalita with house-made corn tortillas, sautéed mushrooms, onions, cilantro, chopped jalapeños, and a side of roasted tomato salsa.

Tocaya Organica Mexican Street Corn Bowl

On the side, guests can choose from an array of savory selections including Guacamole & House-Made Plantain Chips; Street Corn with cotija cheese and chipotle powder; Shaved Brussels Sprouts sautéed with fresh garlic tomatoes; Spanish Cauliflower Rice; and more. As a sweet finish to the meal, vegan dessert options include Churro Waffle Bites with a choice of vegan Callebaut Chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce; Barrio Fruit Bowl tossed in lime and tajin; and Sweet Corn Tamales served with roasted tomato salsa.

Tocaya Organica Agua Frescas

Rounding out Tocaya Organica’s menu are its beverage options of agua frescas and margaritas, in addition to a variety of coffees, teas, and Little West juices. Rotating seasonally, agua fresca flavors include Watermelon, Cucumber Mint, and Strawberry Basil; with margarita options ranging from classic Organica Margarita and Prickly Pear to seasonal flavors such as Passion Fruit, Tamarind, and Skinny Coco Piña.

We highly recommend the guac and a margarita for these hot summer days!
