New Menu | Mora Italian Announces Summer Dishes

Posted on: May 15th, 2019 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

While summer is not my favorite season, one thing that I am loving is hearing all about the new summer dishes at some of my favorite local spots. I am excited about Mora Italian’s summer dishes and couldn’t wait to share them with you.

With 100+ degree temperatures just around the corner, you’re might want to lighten up your menu selections. Celebrity chef Scott Conant and his team have created three new summer dishes that are lighter, but not lacking in flavor.

You typically wouldn’t match up soup and summer, but the slightly sweet and nutty flavor of the artichokes and pignoli (pine nuts) are the perfect match for the earthy truffles. The soup is light and refreshing and won’t make you feel weighted down.

Being a Midwestern girl, there is nothing more comforting than steak and potatoes but in the summertime its just too much. The team at Mora have created a light and fresh Panzanella, a Tuscan chopped salad. While the salad does include chunks of soaked bread, the seasonal summer ingredients remain light and the charred tomatoes impart so much extra flavor and complexity.

Roasted Summer Squash | with smoked yogurt, feta and neonata

You can’t go wrong with a salad in the summer this one is going to become a seasonal favorite. Pair the sweetness of the roasted summer squash with the smoky yogurt, add in some bite from the feta and a little heat from the neonata, a Calabrian fish condiment of sorts spiced up with sweet and hot peppers, and you get an explosion of flavor in every bite.

Don’t stress if you’ve got a favorite item on the menu, it is likely still there. If you’re looking to mix things up this summer, be sure to check out these exciting summer dishes at Mora Italian.
