Tip your hat, bet on your horse and grab your juleps … its Kentucky Derby! While we may not be lucky enough to bring the party to Louisville, we can celebrate right here in the Valley. So, grab your best hat or fascinator, and put on your best attire and celebrate at one of these Valley locations:

2019 Kentucky Derby Parties

Bevvy
Home to the only Off-Track-Betting window in downtown Scottsdale, the Bevvy in Old Town is one the Valley’s favorite places to watch the 145th annual Kentucky Derby. And this year Bevvy’s Kentucky Derby watch party on Saturday May 4, 2019 kicks off at 8am and running till 2am. Get there early to place your bets and stake out your spot either inside this stylish restaurant, or outside on the expanded street-front tent featuring outdoor bars, cozy seating, and most important, even more HD TVs so you can catch all the action. Plus, dig up your biggest derby hat and don your finest Southern attire, as the Bevvy will be hosting Derby-themed contests for “Best Dressed” (male & female) and more, with winners receiving amazing prizes. The Bevvy will also be mixing up special Kentucky Derby cocktails for the day. Don’t miss out on this day of Derby fun!

Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails
On Saturday, May 4th, come dressed to the nines and take in the most exciting two minutes in sports at Blue Hound’s Kentucky Derby Viewing Party happening from 12pm until 4pm. Enjoy Chef Dushyant’s Hot Brown paired with specialty cocktails like Mint Juleps, Old Fashioneds and Whiskey Sours featuring Woodford Reserve and Old Forester. You can catch the show on plasma televisions and participate in a raffle to win some great prizes. See you at the starting gate!

Enjoy the fastest two minutes of sports at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess with their infamous lawn party! Bourbon Steak Executive Chef Sara Garrant will be whipping up Southern favorites including Southern Style Deviled Eggs, Pickled Shrimp, Cornmeal fried oysters, Shrimp and Grits, Fried Chicken Biscuits, Smoked Potato Salad and more. There will be multiple TVs inside and outside to watch the 145th running of the fastest two minutes in sports. Enjoy festive live music, food and drink, a photo booth, lawn games and more. Kelly’s at SouthBridge is bringing the Kentucky Derby spirit to Old Town Scottsdale with signature Blue Moon Kentucky Derby cocktails on May 3rd and 4th! The Blue Moon cocktails are a unique twist on the typical Derby cocktails, featuring the Sweet Kentucky Moon (Blue Moon Belgian White, sweet tea, lemon juice, bourbon) and Moon Mist (Blue Moon Belgian White, Aperol, lemon juice). Partygoers can watch the races in VIP lounges, featuring a personal 55-inch television, and bottle service available upon reservation.

Join friends and neighbors from 1pm until 4pm on Saturday, May 4, for an epic Derby Day Porch Party at Mowry & Cotton. Attendees can look forward to a viewing of the 145th Kentucky Derby, plus Instagrammable photo opportunities and the chance to win top prizes by participating in a “Best Hat” or “Best Southern Style Attire” contest, as well as through a special raffle. It’s off to the races at Ocean Prime… fascinators and bowler hats optional! In honor of the Kentucky Derby — one of the country’s most fashionably attended events that even has its own signature sip — Ocean Prime is offering freshly made Mint Julep cocktails all day Saturday, May 4. Bourbon selection for the cocktail is guests’ choice and price point varies. The party kicks off at 5 p.m. and reservations are recommended.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, the Valley’s premier Irish pub and off-track betting destination, Padre Murphy’s in Glendale, will be hosting their annual “Run for the Roses” Derby Day celebration. Beginning with breakfast at 8:30am (served until 11:30am), the celebration will also include Derby Day drink specials (mint juleps, peach mimosas and Blue Moon drafts), off-track betting, a live telecast of the 145th Annual Kentucky Derby on 100+ TVs (post time is 3:46pm MST) and a Derby Day hat contest at 2pm.

Southern Rail
Join Chef Beckett at Southern Rail for their Kentucky Derby celebration on Saturday, May 4 from 1-5pm. Sip on mint juleps while you cheer on your favorite horse and enjoy a special Derby Day menu in addition to their regular all-day menu items. Guests are encouraged to wear their best derby inspired attire. Prizes will be awarded for the best men’s and women’s derby hats, as well as best dressed overall. Reservations are recommended.

Turf Paradise
The biggest and longest running Kentucky Derby party in Arizona is Saturday, May 4 at Turf Paradise. The first 5000 paid admissions get a free Derby glass and the chance to watch, wager, and win on the derby and a full card of live local horse racing. The day also includes an over the top fashion contest with cash prizes, food and drink specials including Mint Juleps, live music, a kids fun park with bounce house inflatables, and a special performance by the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Grandstand admission is just $5, and kids 16 and under get in free for grandstand only. Grandstand seating is on a first come first serve basis. Gates open at 7:15am. The Derby broadcast is approximately 3:24pm Arizona time.
