Posted on: October 15th, 2018 by Press Release No Comments

Celebrate the return of ‘Phabulous’ fall weather with two can’t miss culinary events coming to the Downtown Farmers Market (aka the Open Air Market at the Phoenix Public Market). Hosted on Saturday, November 11 from 5pm until 9pm, PHX Pheast pairs local chefs with local farmers for a true farm-to-fork extravaganza, including live music and local beer, wine and cocktails. Early Bird tickets to the PHX Pheast are now available for $65, (includes food and 2 drinks).

Coming this December 13 & 20 from 5pm until 10pm, the annual Phoestivus holiday market is inspired by both the famed German Christmas markets, or Weihnachtsmarkt, and of course, Seinfeld’s Festivus, a parody and secular holiday immortalized by this classic TV show. Taking place on back-to-back Thursday nights, the two Phoestivus holiday markets will feature locally grown and produced goods from more than 150 local vendors, as well as handcrafted gift items, jewelry and holiday decorations by local artisans. Last year more than 6,000 participants and shoppers gathered in downtown Phoenix for these two nights of local shopping, including traditions such as the Phoestivus Pole, Pheats of Strength, and the Airing of Grievances, as well as Phoestivus Ale (brewed by Phoenix Ale Brewery), Phoestivus Reindeer (baby goats dolled up for the occasion) and a hipster Santa. Beginning in 2009, Phoestivus is the brainchild of Ken Clark from Get Your PHX.

Located on the corner of Central and McKinley, the Downtown Farmers Market is a year-round food oasis showcasing the surprisingly bountiful flavors of the Sonoran Desert. Home to more than 100 independent vendors, the market tempts with everything from farm-fresh veggies and boutique butcher shops, to artisan-crafted household and skincare products, furnishings and goods. Plus, the market is also home to an ever-rotating collection of the Valley’s best food trucks.

The Downtown Farmers Market is open Saturdays (rain or shine) from 8am until 1pm.
