Summer is a great time in the Valley for foodies with fresh summer specials featuring lighter fare and refreshing cocktails, dining series, extended happy hours and prix-fixe menus. These great deals and fun events will make it a little easier to handle the summer heat.

Rosé Week (June 5-10): In honor of National Rosé Day, Beckett’s Table will celebrate the whole week with a special menu, including Rosé flights and a variety of still and sparkling Rosés by the glass and bottle. The rosés have been hand selected by sommeliers Scott and Katie Stephens featuring a variety of still and sparkling rosés from Arizona, throughout the United States as well as internationally.

Artizen: The restaurant’s new summer menu is comprised of four core food groups: snack, soil, entrees and the butchers block. Menu items include seafood including yellow tail crudo and scallops, fresh vegetables including heirloom carrots and seasonal mushrooms, and a variety of steaks.

Tipsy Tea: Available every Friday and Saturday from 2pm until 5pm at the Bees Knees, the Camby offers a refreshing twist on afternoon tea with a $40 prix-fixe menu of snacks, sweets and libations, including chilled tea-infused cocktails, hot tea-infused cocktails and tea-infused champagne cocktails, as well as straight tea and mocktails.

For the ninth year, FnB is hosting a series of winemaker lunches featuring Arizona wines paired with cuisine created by James Beard-nominated Chef Charleen Badman. On one Sunday a month, acclaimed Chef Charles Wiley hosts a Sunday Supper Club pairing his delicious cuisine with selections from local suppliers and a winery or distillery. On June 24th, the menu features four courses paired with wines from Arizona’s Pillsbury Wine Company for $74 per person.

LDV has several events this summer including its Vineyard to Table Supper Club, a three-course food and wine pairing, on the first Tuesday of every month for $69 per person. In honor of its 10th anniversary, LDV will host a horizontal wine tasting on July 7th from 6pm until8pm for $45. LDV is also hosting barbecues at its vineyard in Pearce on June 23rd and August 4th for only $30 per person.

From now through Labor Day, Lon’s Last Drop bar celebrates summer with happy hour from 4pm to close with reduced pricing on select beer, wine, cocktails and snacks. For $28, guests can enjoy a board of artisan meats and cheeses, and a carafe of wine on tap. For $36, guests can enjoy a barbecue board for two featuring house-smoked favorites for $36, with a carafe of draft wine or a growler of draft beer for an additional $18.

New menu items: Market Street Kitchen has fresh new menu items for lunch and dinner, as well as a revamped cocktail menu for the summer. New menu items include chicken chopped salad, Scottish salmon and pan-seared scallops. New cocktails include A Strange Sazerac, a twist on a New Orleans classic, and a Scrumptious Spritz highlighting citrus and spice.

Duel in the High Desert Cocktail Showdown (June 18th): Bartenders from some of the Valley’s finest restaurants and cocktail establishments will participate in three rounds of cocktail creations. Admission is $15, including light bites and a cocktail, with additional food and beverages available for purchase. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Southwest Human Development, Arizona’s largest nonprofit dedicated to early childhood development. Tickets can be purchased online.

Match Restaurant and Chef Alex Stratta will be hosting a very special wine dinner on June 14th at 6:30pm. The dinner will feature pancetta wrapped dates, fettuccine with parmigiano sauce, a salmon Greek salad, a double-cut pork chop with chimichurri. Guests will close out their experience with Monte Enebro aged goat cheese with quine paste and candied pecans. Indulge in this special dinner for only $50 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant directly.

Chef Stratta will be hosting a unique cooking class on July 7th as a part of his Match Cooking Class Series. Participants will be transported to the South of France with a welcome cocktail and three course meal along with instruction and tips. On the menu for the class is a salad Nicoise, bouillabaisse a la Marseilles and an almond and raspberry clafoutis. Participation in the class is $50 and you can reserve your spot by calling the restaurant.

Mowry and Cotton: The resort’s signature restaurant offers summer specials for weekend brunch and dinner daily. Visit any Saturday or Sunday this summer with a party of three or more, and choose selections from the Porch Party menu. For dinner, guests can share an order of buttermilk buns, two vegetable selections, a fish entree, a meat dish and one dessert for $30 per person for parties of two or more. A selection of half-priced drinks is available during brunch and dinner.

Afternoon Tea: Every Wednesday and Thursday for $30 per person, guests can enjoy a selection of unique blends paired with small bites like finger sandwiches, pastries and more.

Thirsty Camel:  Available through August 31st, the Thirsty Camel’s all-day summer happy hour highlights Sonoran fare including Carne Asada quesadillas and grilled artichoke flatbread. There is also special pricing on beer, Rosé and sangria.

Indoor Chefs + Farmers Market Series: As summer heats up, ZuZu is celebrating the best of the season with an indoor neighborhood farmers market that brings together local chefs, purveyors and makers, with help from Shamrock Foods. The Chefs + Farmers Market Series is happening select Saturdays from 9am until 1pm, on June 23rd, June 30th, July 14th and July 21st, indoors at the hotel’s Sands venue. Enjoy chef-crafted small plates with fresh ingredients, cocktail tastings, a full cash bar and live music from Trio Rio. Shop fresh produce, browse handcrafted goods and visit the ZuZu booth where the talented culinary duo Chef Russell LaCasce and Pastry Chef Audrey Enriquez will be offering delicious pies, scones and other homemade goodies for purchase. Take advantage of a luxury refrigerated bag check while you shop, eat and drink. Special guests will include chefs Beau MacMillan, Gio Osso and Matt Carter, along with MJ Bread, Crow’s Dairy, Twisted Infusions Farms, Ruze Cake House and many more. Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance or $35 at the door. Each ticket includes chef bites, cocktail samples, a 25% off dining certificate for ZuZu, and a $10 voucher to use towards a market purchase of $20 or more.
