Little Rituals Gets Backed by Big Local Names

Posted on: December 20th, 2017 by Press Release No Comments

What happens when two of the state’s most innovative and awarded bartenders join forces to establish an all-new lounge inside a high-rise in the heart of downtown Phoenix? Coming in mid-2018, Little Rituals is the highly anticipated new lounge co-created by Ross Simon, Proprietor of Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour and Aaron DeFeo, the renowned Property Mixologist for Casino del Sol resort in Tucson.

Little Rituals Gets Backed by Big Local NamesCarved into a custom-designed, view-filled perch on the fourth floor of the 20-story Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Downtown, Little Rituals will serve up a menu of seasonal cocktails and gourmet bar bites that will feel at home amongst the worlds best bars; Ross Simon knows a thing or two about the global cocktail stage, with his first bar, Bitter & Twisted, repeatedly nominated for the industry’s highest honor, Tales of the Cocktail. Think cutting-edge cocktail techniques, executed with elegant simplicity in a refined lounge setting.

Housed on the NW corner of Central Avenue and Madison Street, Little Rituals will tempt with a stylishly designed space featuring a seated lounge area, intimate lighting, and sweeping city vistas. Scheduled to open in mid- 2018, look for a compact, yet globe-spanning menu of classically-inspired and progressive cocktails. Plus, enjoy a crave-able sized small bites menu of chef-driven bar bites designed to complement the beverage aspects of the bar.

Little Rituals is located on the same Downtown Phoenix city block as Ross Simon’s award-winning Bitter & Twisted at the Luhrs Building. Formerly a ghost town after dark, this area has exploded in popularity recent years thanks to a red-hot dining and drinking scene, the opening of ASU’s downtown campus, the construction of the Valley Metro Light Rail and the opening of dozens of urban residences and new boutique hotels, such as Little Ritual’s state-of-the-art hotel home.

“Just as Bitter & Twisted helped redefine the downtown drinking experience, Little Rituals will help redefine the hotel bar here in Phoenix,” Ross Simon says, “bringing the same innovative, ever-changing menu in a stylish setting that you’d expect in Miami, Los Angeles or London.” Simon is working with the hotel developers Hansji Corporation to secure the space at it’s new dual-branded boutique hotel that opened in May 2017. Next, Simon reached out to his friend and fellow high-profile bartender, Aaron DeFeo to create a true cocktail dream team.

“It’s been my lifelong dream to open my own space, and I was so excited by this opportunity that I’m leaving Tucson to relocate to Downtown Phoenix,” Aaron DeFeo says. As for the name, DeFeo says it’s a reference to the countless steps a bar must take to truly strive for excellence, “from the menu development to the service to the garnishes and the dedicated ice program. For the guests, it’s a fun little name, but to us, it’s a daily reminder of the unique routine, dedication, and the Little Rituals we follow to build a world-class hotel bar.”
