Events | Elote Tequila Tasting Event with Chef Jeff Smedstad

Posted on: April 21st, 2017 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

One Tequila, two Tequila, three Tequila, four! Try them all at the exclusive Elote Tequila Tasting Event at Elote Café. The Arizona restaurant is recognized for its picturesque views of the Sedona Red Rocks, its prize-winning blend of farm-fresh flavors from Southern Mexico and the American Southwest, and of course its collection of fine tequilas. Elote Café, normally closed Sundays, is making an exception for this memorable occasion on Sunday, May 7. Starting promptly at 2pm, James Beard Award-nominated Chef Jeff Smedstad, with the support of Herradura and Patron, will give a Tequila master’s class.

ELOTE TEQUILA TASTING EVENT WITH CHEF JEFF SMEDSTADAttendees will taste the mastery of Chef Smedstad with seven courses of small plates crafted especially for the occasion. Some plates will include Tequila as a component while others will be partnered with an array of artisanal Tequilas. Chef Smedstad and Tequila experts will guide guests through the fundamentals of Tequila and complementary bites and briefly delve into the various refinement processes of Tequila in a mini multimedia lecture series. Because of the nature of this unique experience, there will only be one seating and reservations are required. Reservations are available now and capacity is extremely limited. All proceeds from the Elote Tequila Tasting Event will go to the Sedona Rotary Club, assisting the Verde Valley Imagination Library.

Named one of the AZ’s Best Restaurants in 2016 by Phoenix Magazine and Sedona’s 9 Best by the Arizona Republic, Elote Cafe has also drawn rave reviews from national media including MSN.com (America’s 50 Best Mexican Restaurants), Fodor’s Starred Review, and the Gayot/Fox News (Top 10 Mexican restaurants in the US). Chef Smedstad has also been personally profiled in the Chicago Tribune (Chef gets a very fresh start, menu in Sedona) and the NY Times (Fruits of the Desert Sun), The Boston Globe, the Toronto Star and Sunset Magazine among others.
