The OMFG Salad: The Salad Formerly Known as Original Chopped Salad

Posted on: March 5th, 2017 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

If you fancy yourself any sort of foodie in Arizona, you know all about the Original Chopped Salad. I mean, it has it’s own facebook page for goodness sake! This 20-year-old iconic salad is getting a new name and shall hereby be called out as the “OMFG Salad!” (The cheeky moniker stands for Original, Mixed, Feel-Good Salad…but you can put whatever spin on it you like!)

The Original Chopped Salad becomes the OMFG SaladYou may wonder, why the name change. We’ve all heard the saying, “If it ain’t broke”, right? Well, Bernie Kantak and partner Andrew Fitz have some big, really big, plans for Arizona’s State Salad. You can expect to see the salad that was ordered over 75k times in 2016 alone will be hitting grocery store shelves, stand-alone kiosks and a new micro restaurant across the Valley.

“We see it all the time,” said Kantak. “Returning guests will bring a first-timer to the restaurants just to see the reaction to the first bite.” Kantak and Fritz are looking to YOU to let them know where the first location of the OMFG Salad Bar should debut. You can submit your location suggestion to OMFGSalad.com where you will also be entered to win a year’s supply of the salad. Entries will be accepted now through April 15th.

Until then you can get your fill of the OMFG Salad exclusively at Citizen Public House and The Gladly.

Where would you like to see the first OMFG Salad location?
