Tempe Welcomes The Halal Guys First Arizona Location

NYC’s famous food cart, The Halal Guys officially opened the first Arizona brick-and-mortar location in Tempe near Arizona State University on Friday, January 27th. Loyal fans and eager Tempe residents stayed in lengthy lines to take the first sample of the hot chicken-and-rice dishes, gyro sandwiches and famous white sauce! The procession began taking shape more than an hour before the official opening at 11am and it continued to develop throughout the day, as guests waited for the Halal street food that New Yorkers have loved for roughly three decades.

Despite the wait times, once customers got to the counter to place their order it averaged only a few minutes to settle their transaction. The overall consensus was extremely positive, and the fans were in agreement that the brick and mortar location brought the same qualities as the first food carts in New York. The Halal Guys pride themselves on only using high-quality goods like their chicken, which has never been frozen and is marinated and seasoned overnight, then cooked and chopped on the grill and served directly to their plate to ensure a crave-worthy meal that’s piping hot. In addition to the hundreds of guests who attended the Grand Opening, Vice Mayor Robin Arredondo-Savage and the Tempe Chamber of Commerce assisted in the ribbon cutting and expressed their excitement about the new addition to the community.

In conjunction with the Grand Opening, the Tempe location also announced their partnership with delivery service UberEats. Fans in neighboring communities up to five miles away can now have The Halal Guys’ gyro sandwiches and chicken-and-rice platters delivered straight to their door.
