The Basics | For the second year, Cuisine & Wine Bistro will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu with wine pairings, meals designed for couples whose love of exquisite French food matches their quest for romance.  “When you have lovely French food, excellent wine pairings and the perfect date, it’s a recipe for romance,” says Mairead Buschtetz, who owns and operates the two bistros with her husband and chef, Fabrice. “We are already receiving reservation requests for this year.” Last year, their Gilbert restaurant sold out for Valentine’s Day, and they predict the same for 2017 with reservations already being made. The opening of the second location in Chandler gives more couples an opportunity to bask in French ambiance for the holiday of amour.
The Bites | Chef Fabrice Buschtetz has crafted a menu featuring duck, beef and lobster and wines that will complement the dishes and bring out the scrumptious flavors in the meat and the unique sauces. Diners can choose from a lobster risotto and duck breast with foie gras as a starter. Entree options include a roasted cod or Angus beef filet mignon. Diners can choose from the likes of The Original Chopped Salad and seared spicy tuna, among other first-course offerings, and follow it up with their choice of six special entrees, like the five-spice short rib, duck meatloaf and chimichurri chicken. Dessert options include a blueberry maple bread pudding boasting vanilla bean ice cream, Vermont maple syrup and bacon crunch, and chocolate stout cheesecake, made with a pretzel crust, salted caramel and streusel.

The Bites | Begin your dining experience with an Ahi tartare crostini and then move into your choice of lobster bisque, jumbo shrimp cocktail or a frisee salad. You’ll then share a bread board with your date, which are pretty famous around these parts. Your entrée options are a classic beef wellington, arrabbiata, Cornish hen and seared salmon. There will also be vegetarian options available upon request. Your toughest decision of the night will be between a flourless chocolate cake or the crème brulee with berries.
