Posted on: July 27th, 2016 by Taryn Jeffries 16 Comments

I shared with you yesterday that PhoenixBites is turning 6 and to celebrate we are having 6 Days of Giveaways. Day Two will get you out of town to visit any one (or all) of Lisa Dahl‘s four restaurants in Sedona via a $60 gift card.

Lisa Dahl and the Dahl Restaurant Group boast 4 diverse restaurants in Sedona: Cusina Rustica, Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante Italiano, Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill and Pisa Lisa. Let’s dig a little into the spots, shall we?

Cucina Rustica | Rustic Tuscan Kitchen

7000 Hwy 179| Sedona| 86351| 928.284.3010| $$$
6 Days of Giveaways- Get to Know Lisa Dahl- Cucina RusticaLisa Dahl’s mantra is “The doorway to the imagination awaits you”, and this restaurant embodies that idea. The space consists of iron gates and windows from around the world as well as authentic old world doors, creating a feeling of being in an old villa. The beautiful floral touches along with textured walls create warmth and feelings of comfort, subtle touches that bring an air of elegance and indulgence. The dishes are presented in the same manner. Only the best ingredients are allowed into Lisa Dahl’s kitchens and each dish component is honored and allowed to have their best flavors and aspects shine through. You’ll find comfort food that has been elevated to fine dining, whether you opt for more traditional items or some of Lisa’s signature dishes. The wine list is full of the culinary teams personal favorites, all of which are the highest quality and complement the house menu and overall dining experience.

Dahl & DiLuca Ristorante Italiano

2321 W. Hwy 89A| Sedona| 86336| 928.282.5219| $$$
6 Days of Giveaways- Get to Know Lisa Dahl- Dahl & DiLucaAn ongoing theme throughout all of Lisa Dahl’s restaurants is a quiet elegance that houses a peaceful, friendly energy. You want to gather your friends together and share in the great food, energy and passion that is housed within their spaces. The menu is full of homemade pasta items, with their linguine and fettuccine made fresh daily on the premises. Our favorite is the Amalfi, a combination of conchigliono pasta shells with lobster meat and rock shrimp served in a scampi style in a fragrant lemon garlic white wine sauce. Looking for something from the grill? Try their Salmone al Lemoncello, a fresh filet of grilled Scottish salmon dressed in a Neapolitan lemocello reduction sauce. The truffle salted asparagus and roasted potatoes that this dish comes with is a perfect complement.

Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill

700 W. Hwy 89A| Sedona| 86336| 928.862.4444| $$$
6 Days of Giveaways- Get to Know Lisa Dahl- MariposaThe view and the cuisine at Mariposa are both breathtaking. THe expansive dining room is rivaled by the mountainous landscape, with large windows providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing lunch or romantic interlude. Start your dinner adventure with the handmade empanadas, the Beef filet, potato, current, Sicilian olives and ques o are a brilliant combination of flavors and my absolute favorite. Executive Chef Lisa Dahl’s deep love and appreciation for vegetables shines through in the menu here and her Veggie Nirvana is one of the best vegetarian dishes I have ever tried. You’ll receive a perfectly fire-roasted Poblano pepper stuffed with a bounty of Provencal vegetables, quinoa and Jack cheese that is finished with a roasted pepper romesco sauce and pepitas for texture.

Pisa Lisa

2245 W. Hwy 89A| Sedona| 86336| 928.282.5472| $$
6 Days of Giveaways- Get to Know Lisa Dahl- Pisa LisaIs there anything that Lisa Dahl doesn’t excel at? If there is, we haven’t found it just yet! You’ll find a welcoming atmosphere here at Pisa Lisa and a wide variety of thin and delicate wood fired pizzas, flavorful hand tossed salads and creamy and decadent gelatos. The pizza combinations are mostly simple, with pure ingredients whose flavors are allowed to shine through. Their Mother Sauce is a beautiful balance f sweet and spicy. While there are many pizza combinations available, you’ll also find a wide variety of high-quality ingredients that you can add on to those pizzas or that you can use to make your own special creations. My favorite combination is the Affumicato, a mix of Nova Scotia smoked salmon, campari tomatoes, red onion, capers, creme fraiche, balsamic reduction and organic arugula all nestled atop warm rustic flatbread. Their affogato is a great way to end the meal, but you’ll also want to check out their gelato flavors of the day.

Pisa Lisa sounds so good. They all do. I would order the Primo Portobello and drink a glass of Hahn Pino Noir. That sounds amazing right now

So many amazing choices! If I must choose one, the I’d first try the Pappardelle Provencal at Cucina Rustica.

  8. Aimee Shramko says:

I’ve never had fried avocado! I’d have to try the Aquacate Frito at Mariposa along with the Pescado Paradiso. You seldom see Viognier and Rousanne wines on the menu – so I’d have a glass of each! I know my husband would be drooling over that James Beard nominated burger – wow!

  9. Danielle says:

The Garganelli Fra Diavolo sounds sensational! I would love to drive down the switchbacks to Sedona and put a little spice into my summer! This dish sounds like a must have??

Pulpo Parrilla – Grilled Spanish Octopus with warm Butter Beans Vinaigrette and finished with Fennel Slaw

We’ll be down Saturday for a week specifically to relax and visit each one of Lisa’s restaurants. I’m sure we’re going order more than a few desserts at each venue. Pistachio Panna Cotta is at the top of the list for me. Pisa Lisa upon arrival and prior to our reservation at Mariposa.

  12. Lynn Flagg says:

I wanted the Langosta con papas, but you were sold out. Maybe next time. The gnocchi sounds amazing!
