By now you’ve all seen the news coverage of the Pulse shooting in Orlando. It’s unavoidable and heartbreaking. I have struggled with emotions and questions from my children. All I am left with is a resounding, “Why?!” reverberating in the once quiet corners of my mind.

More Love Less Hate_Support victims of Pulse Shooting

This incident has brought up many important conversations in my home. One of my sons has asked me what we can do. I explained to him that the surviving victims of the Pulse shooting would need blood to help them recover. The victims will also need financial help for medical bills and the like. We can also get more involved as an advocate for local and national LGBT issues.

On Sunday afternoon, when President Obama was addressing the tragedy in his speech he shared his feelings. “The fact that it took place at a club frequented by the LGBT community I think is so relevant. It’s a reminder that regardless of race, religion, faith or sexual orientation, we’re all Americans, and we need to be looking after watch other and protecting each other at all times in the face of this kind of terrible act.”

How can you help the victims of the Pulse shooting in Orlando?

One local business heard President Obama’s message loud and clear and has felt a call to action. A call to help to watch over and protect each other. Spinelli’s Pizzeria wants the community to know that they provide a safe place that accepts all people from all walks of life. In an act of solidarity and community, Spinelli’s will be donating 20% of their gross sales on Wednesday, June 15th. for the entire day to the Pulse Night Club GoFundMe account to support the victims.

At last check, there has been an incredible $3,539,372 raised for the victims. The funds raised will help the victims of this horrific tragedy with medical costs, legal counsel and so much more.
