Basha’s Searches for Next Great Donut Flavor
Move over maple-glazed and frosted-with-sprinkles…there soon will be a new donut in town! The bakery team at Bashas’ Supermarkets is calling all young donut lovers across the state to help introduce a new donut creation to Arizona, as the hometown grocer launches its Donut Flavor Craze Contest.
From now to May 13, children and teens from eight to 18 years old have the chance to push the limits of their imaginations and share their thoughts on what should become the next great donut flavor added to Bashas’ roster, which currently consists of 59 different varieties.
The first-place donut will be featured in Bashas’ bakery case through the entire month of June, joining the grocer’s other made-from-scratch treats, including donuts, fritters, croissants, Danishes, brownies, frosted cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and more.
How do you enter your amazing new donut flavor?
Entrants need to share a 100-word description of the donut they would like to submit to the contest, including the proposed name, key ingredients, and why their donut should win. Entrants are also encouraged to share a photo of themselves enjoying a Bashas’ donut! The contest is open to Arizona residents aged 8 to 18 and all submissions should be submitted to FlavorCraze bu 11:59 on May 13th.
Thirteen (a baker’s dozen) ) finalists will be selected on May 16th. Arizona resident will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite donut via social media from May 17th until May 20th. The winning donut will be announced on May 31st, just in time for National Donut Day on June 3rd.
What will your winning donut flavor get you?
In addition to having his/her winning donut featured in Bashas’ bakery departments across the state during the entire month of June, the first-place winner will receive the title of Bashas’ Official Donut Ambassador, along with a $100 Bashas’ gift card and one dozen donuts every month for a year.
The second-place winner will receive a $75 Bashas’ gift card, and the third-place winner will receive a $50 Bashas’ gift card.
The remaining 10 finalists will each receive a $25 Bashas’ gift card and one dozen donuts, along with the opportunity to appear on Bashas’ website and social media channels.
