Chef Windels Has Left the Building

Posted on: December 10th, 2015 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

We just caught wind that there are some major changes are happening at The Herb BoxChef Becky Windels has moved on. This is huge news since she and co-owner founded The Herb Box back in 1995. The restaurant has been met with great reviews, accolades and growth. With the Scottsdale restaurant’s 20 year anniversary, Chef Windels has decided now is the most appropriate time to move on. She has plans to travel and enjoy that time with her husband as well as exploring some new culinary opportunities.Book Eyes

According to Windels, “It was a very tough decision choosing to leave The Herb Box. Susan and I have been very fortunate to create a culinary concept that has been very well received, and I will be forever grateful for the community’s support of The Herb Box. It has given me so much joy to create delicious and memorable food for the restaurants and catering division over the past 20 years. The Herb Box has assembled a dedicated and hard working team, and I will miss my kitchen staff greatly. They have been integral to shaping the restaurants and catering division. I wish The Herb Box many more years of continued success.”

“Chef Becky and I have a long history together building a thriving business; however, I understand and respect her desire to explore other avenues. The Herb Box is my life’s work, and I remain committed to ensuring the continued growth and success of the business,” says Owner and CEO, Susan Wilcox.

With Windels departure, The Herb Box will continue to operate business as usual, and there will be no significant changes to the menu. According to Wilcox, “The future is very bright for The Herb Box. With the fortunate success of our current restaurants, an ever-growing catering and event company, a talented executive team, a new location opening in early 2016, as well as additional projects in and out of Arizona, the sky is the limit.”

We are sure that the quality of the food that has been offered through catering and the restaurant will continue.

What are your thoughts on Chef Windels moving on?
