Weekend Bites

This weekend is jammed with all sorts of things to do this weekend; from Flights and Bites, date nights, scary frights and culinary delights! Check out all the great events happening this weekend and let us know where you will be!

Weekend Bites; October 1st through October 4th

Thursday, October 1st

Flights and Bites at LDV Wine Gallery
5:30pm until 8:00pm
Who better to prepare the perfect little bites with LDV’s wines than amazing cook and LDV Winery owner Peggy Fiandaca? If you have been lucky to be invited to one of Peggy’s legendary parties or dinners you will not want to miss her turn at the Flights and Bites helm. Wine and food are character actors in every Italian family, but in the Fiandaca family they played starring roles. Peggy’s grandparents emigrated from Sicily to a Chicago Italian neighborhood providing the foundation for her wine and cooking heritage. Couple that rich heritage with her mother’s father, William Hogan, a well-known bootlegger in Kentucky during Prohibition, her urban planning career was a slight detour on the road to growing grapes, producing world-class wines, and pairing those wines with incredible food.

In what has become one of the most significant culinary collaborations in Arizona’s history, the 7 Chef Series continues on October 4th with the 7 Chef Que-Out, a multi-course bar-b-que extravaganza from the chefs that do it best. Hosted at Chef Cullen Campbell’s newest restaurant, Okra Cookhouse & Cocktails, the Que-Out will feature the smoky, flame-kissed wizardry of Gregory Weiner, Justin Beckett, Stephen Jones, Cullen Campbell, Kelly Fletcher, Bernie Kantak, and Scott Holmes, each contributing a course to the experience. The 7 Chef Series also expands it’s borders this November when the group heads to New York City to cook a landmark dinner at the James Beard House, representing the Arizona culinary scene in a way never before seen. While each event features only 7 chefs, the collaborative talent pool also includes Gregory Casale, Josh Hebert and Gio Osso.
