Scottsdale Gets Spicy

On September 27th, Scottsdale is going to get SPICY! The Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Scottsdale Spice Culinary Event will not only be host to some incredible culinary creations from more than 20 Scottsdale restaurants, but it will also be a qualifying event for the World Chef Challenge being held in Las Vegas in November. That competition will result in $25,000 in cash and prizes for the winner, so you know its going to be an exciting competition!Scottsdale Spice Culinary Event

Each competing chef will submit one dish for the World Chef Challenge competition portion at the Scottsdale Spice Culinary Event. That dish will be scored by a panel of media, chef and celebrity judges. Patrons of the event will also have an opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite dish. The lucky winner will receive a “Golden Ticket” that will automatically advance them to the next round of the competition and will cover their entry fees into the 3 day World Chef Challenge.

Even though there are components of the day that are crazy serious for the competitors there will also be a lot of fun that dayScottsdale Spice Aerial as well. The local restaurant chefs will also be creating some fun dishes with three levels of heat: mild, medium and hot. In addition to voting on the World Chef Challenge competitors, attendees will also get to vote on their favorite Booth Decor, the Spiciest Dish, Most Authentically Arizonan amongst other categories.

General admission is only $50 and will get you unlimited food samplings from the participating restaurants (while supplies last) as well as 7 drink tickets good for wine, craft beer and spirits. Sapphire Sky will also be on hand for some live entertainment.

Scottsdale Spice will be held at The Venue located at 7117 E. 3rd Ave. in Scottsdale. The event will take place from 6 pm until 10 pm and is open to anyone 21 and older.
