4th of July Dining Deals (2014)

The 4th of July is typically a holiday full of backyard barbecues or picnics in the park, but considering the venturing to the outside here in the Valley can feel akin to taking a walk on the sun, here are just a few of the local spots that are offering deals on Independence Dining so you can stay out of the heat and enjoy your loved ones!

Celebrate the 4th at Fired Up Grill! Guests can savor their favorite wine for half-off while enjoying signature Fired Up’s light and colorful dishes such as the Pear and Apple salad with mixed greens, crumbled Gorgonzola, pears, granny smith apples and candied walnuts with maple balsamic vinaigrette, Asparagus Ravioli filled with asparagus, ricotta and parmigiana cheese or the Jamaican Jerk Pork Chop made from Gold Canyon natural reserve pork grilled to perfection, served with a mango-lime salsa and yucca fries. 

You can also enjoy half-priced bottles of wine and your first beer is only 4 cents (with the purchase of food)! Live entertainment bu Brian Legate will begin at 6:30 pm and go until 9:30 pm.

Lucky Strike has announced that in celebration of the Independence Day holiday, its Burger of the Month creation for the month of July is: The All-American Burger; a juicy half pound all-beef burger, topped with all of your traditional cookout favorites including a grilled all-beef hot dog, lettuce, tomato, onion, relish, American cheese and homemade potato chips served with a side of macaroni salad.  The All-American Burger will be available July 1 – 31 with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this burger will benefit the Conquer Cancer Coalition.

You want a festive meal but have no desire to cook it yourself? We’ve all been there. This year The Market by Jennifer’s is here to save you. Pop in and take advantage of their All American 4th of July Grab N’ Go meals. Palette at The Phoenix Art Museum

Head indoors to celebrate our country’s independence this year, as Palette hosts its first dine and dance event of the summer, Saucy Ribs and Sassy Swing. Start your holiday at Palette at Phoenix Art Museum with a barbecue buffet, cocktails and entertainment from the Upper East Side Big Band.

To celebrate in true American style, Palette will be creating a summer barbecue menu with items such as crispy chicken, baby back ribs with homemade sauce and glaze, summer salads and fresh fruit cobblers.

After your plate is filled, music from Arizona’s premier big jazz band, The Upper East Side Big Band will fill the restaurant. Bring your dancing shoes, because it will be a night of vintage jazz standards, captivating ballads, swing music from around the world, and all forms of American music from the first half of the 20thcentury.

Palette will also feature Sweet & Smoky Sangria garnished with a Grilled Peach for only $4 a glass, along with other beer and cocktail options.

Continue the night by attending free First Friday exhibits next door at Phoenix Art Museum. This is also the last weekend to purchase tickets and view the Hollywood Costume exhibit.

The Refuge

The Refuge, located in Central Phoenix, is a coffee shop by day and wine bar by night.  It’s a social enterprise of Catholic Charities Community Services supporting services for our community’s most vulnerable. The café serves breakfast items along with sandwiches, salads and light fare daily.  They also offer happy hour, live music and special events.  The Refuge features a gallery of hand-crafted art made by refugees from around the world.  Proceeds from the sale of the work directly benefit the artist. They will be offering an All-American meal over 4th of July weekend.  For $5, you’ll get a hotdog, bag of chips and lemonade, valid July 4-6th.  They will also be allowing guests to park in their lot and ride the light rail or walk to Steele Indian Park for firework show.  Of course, the parking will be first come, first serve.

Dock the boat and leave the outdoor barbecuing to the neighbors. They’re picking up the check for one entrée of every entrée purchased. Pack your stretchy pants, and prepare to eat like its Christmas in July. Alongside a handful of All-American specials put forth by their talented culinary teams, Roaring Fork and Salty Sow will have all your red, white and braised favorites on hand. Let freedom (to eat) ring, and toast to independence with your neighborhood favorites this July 4th.

As part of the Firework Fest at Westgate, on Friday, July 4, The Shout House dueling piano bar at Westgate is offering a grab ‘n go dinner special, dine-in food and drink specials, plus a waived cover charge for military personnel or any guest who arrives early. Additionally, for those who prefer to watch the fireworks show from the comfort of an air-conditioned building, The Shout House’s second story locale and wrap around windows will offer the perfect vantage point.

Families watching the fireworks show from the parking lot at Westgate can have a Fourth of July picnic with a grab ‘n go dinner special from The Shout House. Get a to-go combo featuring a hamburger, fries and a soda for only $8. The burger deal is available for dine-in guests as well, in addition to a Brisket and Beer special for only $12, featuring a BBQ brisket sandwich, fries and a domestic draft beer. Drink specials include $2 Coors Original, 32-ounce Big Ass domestic beers for $8, with $6 refills in a souvenir take home cup, or Hurricane cocktails for $14.50, with $10 refills in a keepsake glass. Just for the celebration, The Shout House will also be serving up a $6 Red, White and Blue patriotic cocktails, featuring vodka and either cranberry, lime or blueberry Red Bull flavors.
For those who prefer to get comfortable and spend the evening in one spot, The Shout House will open early at 5 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. There will be a short break for the fireworks show at 9 p.m., which can be enjoyed without leaving the club. The venue’s second story perch is the prime spot for watching the fireworks. Take in the spectacle from The Shout House’s front entrance patio or gather around the panoramic windows, which will be opened for the fireworks show.
In celebration of the holiday, those who arrive by 7 p.m. will receive a waived cover charge. After 7 p.m., the entry fee is $5 per person. Those with a valid military ID will receive a waived cover charge all night long. A 21-and-over, non-stop, audience request driven show, singers face one another at dueling pianos, and they play classic rock ‘n’ roll hits to today’s popular music. For Fourth of July, the musicians will incorporate a variety of patriotic, all-American and laid back summer music.

Sierra Bonita Grill

Beat the heat on Independence Day, and celebrate at Sierra Bonita Grill with some fabulous fourth food and drink specials. On the Fourth of July, from open to close, enjoy an all-American Hot Dog, Frito Pie, Hopper’s Poppers, or Apple Cobbler for only $4 each. The All-American Hot Dog is a Schreiner’s dog, served with all of the fixings. The Frito Pie features Fritos topped with red chile pork, charro beans, cheddar cheese and sour cream. Hopper’s Poppers are jalapeños stuffed with a blend of four cheeses and served on a sizzling skillet. Just for the holiday, Sierra Bonita Grill is bringing back its made-from-scratch Apple Cobbler. Cool down with a $4 draft beer or house made, fresh squeezed margarita.

Southern Rail

Celebrate the day with American classics like sweat tea and biscuits and gravy in the comfort of Southern Rail’s warm, welcoming (and air conditioned) dining room. And perfect for the Fourth: Chef will also be offering his famous fried chicken special that night. Around 9:30 p.m., keep an eye out on the patio to possibly catch a glimpse of the Fabulous Phoenix 4th fireworks display from the nearby Steele Indian School Park.

The Declaration of Independence states “…All men are created equal”, but what about cupcakes? That’s not always true. Celebrate your Independence Day with the very best! Sprinkles Cupcakes is rolling out one of their most anticipated seasonal flavors: lemon blueberry – a fragrant lemon cake, studded with wild blueberries and topped with lemon cream cheese frosting.

Sprinkles is also offering their 4th of July Box, filled with six lemon blueberry and six red velvet cupcakes, all topped with patriotic stars that are sure to add fireworks to any holiday bbq. Sprinkles’ limited flavor and the 4th of July Box will be available from June 21 to July 7th. Valley residents can pick up their cupcakes at the Scottsdale location Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 am to 8 pm. Same-day orders for pick-up and delivery are now available.
