Get your sauce on with Gina’s Homemade

Posted on: April 23rd, 2013 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

We have been longtime fans of Gina’s Homemade, the husband and wife team that are becoming well-known in the Valley for producing amazing biscotti, handmade cheeses and some really great  sauces. If you’ve been out to the Old Town Farmer’s Market, you’ve surely seen their booth and hopefully been able to taste their creations. More than likely, while out dining, you have enjoyed their wares without even knowing it.

Gina’s popularity and reputation for creating high quality products with high quality ingredients has propelled them into local restaurant kitchens, AJ’s Fine Foods, Whole Foods and now their own location; Gina’s Homemade Market located in North Scottsdale.

Gina’s Homemade market is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm and on Saturday from 11am to 7pm. Their menu features a variety of pizzas, soups, sandwiches and Italian favorites.

Top on my list to try:

  • Burrata Pizza | Gina’s Burrata is some of the best I have tasted and with it being featured alongside McClendon’s Select baby spinach, I am sure that you can taste the Arizona love in each bite.
  • Handmade Tagliolini with Fresh Pesto | There is something so comforting about handmade pasta and knowing that Hayden Flour Mills Semolina is in the mix is tempting me to get in my car right now.
  • Fried Mortadella Sandwich | Fried Creminelli Mortadella on freshly baked ciabatta – Do I really need to expand on that? It sounds simple and amazing.

Let’s say, you’ve purchased their sauces from the farmer’s market or had anyone of their delectable dishes at their restaurant and you’re dying to know just how they put all that flavor and love into their dishes. You’re now in luck! On April 30th, May 7th and May 14th from 6pm to 8pm, with $30, a desire to learn and a stomach ready for some great food you can get the recipes for three of their sauces, hands-on instruction, dine on your creations and wine tasting. I have to say the recipes and instruction from these pros is far worth the cost of the class. So hurry over to their website and sign up before spots run out. Better yet, sign up for the class and then make time for a meal and get to know the proprietors and become their next biggest fan!

The classes will be held at their restaurant at 10953 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, Ste 105 in Scottsdale. Call 480-882-0787 for more information.
