Did somebody say bacon? Check out Skillet Street Food!

Posted on: December 31st, 2012 by Amy Martin No Comments

Bacon. Everyone loves it. Bacon products surround from bacon-flavored candy to bacon-shaped Band-Aids. The current bacon craze is likely to never end because, truthfully, can you ever really have enough bacon? To add more smoky/salty goodness to your bacon repertoire, Skillet Street Food has a product that will make pig-lovers salivate: the Bacon Jam.

If you’re lucky enough to live near Seattle, you can enjoy Skillet Street Food’s diner which serves three squares a day, offering comfort food dishes like Pork Belly & Cornmeal Waffles, Red Beans & Rice with a smoked tomato/raisin compote, Southern Fried Chicken with black pepper honey drizzle, and Cochinita Pibil. Valley residents (and food-lovers nationwide) can still get a taste of their kitchen with their line of jams and sauces. Their Original Bacon Jam bottles up all that smoky, salty deliciousness of bacon into a highly-flavored spread that you can use in a myriad of dishes. Use on your burgers and or a tomato and avocado panini… it also goes great mixed in with mashed potatoes or with any dish you want a little oomph of bacon. I love using with caramelized Brussels sprouts. Appropriate for the season, try out one of their pumpkin sauces to add flare to any meal.

  • Original Skillet Bacon Jam – bacon lovers can’t go wrong with this spread.
  • Brown Sugar and Apple Vinegar Skillet Pumpkin Sauce – Use any of the pumpkin sauce variations the same way you would use traditional ketchup. The unique, flavor-packed condiment transforms snacks, veggies and even main courses. The sweet-and-tart Brown Sugar and Apple Vinegar Pumpkin Sauce combines the sweetness of brown sugar with the pucker of apple cider vinegar and the natural spiciness of pumpkin… try it spread on a turkey and cranberry sandwich from holiday leftovers or as they recommend, make a sauce out of it with a splash of cream and vegetable stock to pour over butternut squash ravioli. Yum.
  • Chipotle Skillet Pumpkin Sauce – We found this one to be the most versatile of the pumpkin sauces.  It’s good as is and poses as an interesting dipping sauce for fries.

Find their products locally at Whole Foods Market or order them online at skilletstreetfood.com.
