9/1: Phoenix Cooks at the Westin Kierland

Posted on: August 20th, 2012 by Amy Martin No Comments

Clear your schedule for September 1st because the 8th Annual Phoenix Cooks! Culinary event is coming to the Westin Kierland Resort to serve up tasty bites from the Valley’s best chefs. You’ll be sipping and noshing from 10am-3pm all while supporting Phoenix Children’s Hospital and escaping the heat. Phoenix Cooks! Is one of my favorite culinary events here in Arizona… and perhaps THE ultimate favorite. I love that it’s held indoors and always in a space large enough to navigate without being shoulder-to-shoulder. Nearly all of the Valley’s most-talked-about restaurants participate at this ‘food mecca’ where all our culinary greatness comes together under one roof. You’ll have the opportunity to taste bites from local chefs and restaurants and quench your thirst with wines, Alaskan beers, and other spirits.

In between the indulging, check out one (or a few) of this year’s 16 intimate cooking classes with topics including “What’s Hot in the World of Wine”, “Argentinean Grilling” and “Olive Oil 101” with Queen Creek Olive Mill. Four stages will feature live cooking demos beginning every half hour as chefs battle head-to-head with mystery ingredients and offer up cooking how-tos.  Something new for this year, Phoenix Cooks is announcing the Foodie Favorite competition. Event goers will vote on the “best culinary creation” and “most beautiful booth design” for the ultimate Foodie Favorite.

Tickets are $75 in advance and $90 at the door. Your admission ticket will grant you all the food, wine, beer, spirit samples and stage demos you can partake. Classes are an additional $10 per person, per class. Get your tickets soon before sell-out!

Check the full schedule of events and participators and purchase tickets at phoenixcooks.com. Proceeds will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
