En Blum on the Roof

En Blum – a delicate name for a fierce new catering company and event space.

En Blum on the roof is the newest Tempe special event venue. Situated atop of the Comerica building in the heart of Downtown Tempe, this location provides amazing views of Tempe ‘A’ Mountain, Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe City Hall, Mill Avenue, and Arizona State University Main Campus. While standing in the open space on the roof, you can envision anything from an intimate wedding, a high energy corporate event, or a classy birthday gathering with your closest friends. The location has multiple levels as well as some breakout rooms completely safe from the elements. Perfect for any occasion… (Really, you can’t miss with the location and views…and I haven’t even gotten started on the food!).

First, En Blum prides itself on only using the best locally sourced products, which we all know not only sustains our palates, but the local economy as well. You don’t need to be hosting an elaborate party or event either though they will certainly shine if that is the case. Need to cater an intimate dinner party? How about a lunch meeting? Your wedding? The staff at En Blum will surely impress you and your guests regardless of the occasion. All meals are presented tapas style, which I personally think gives the diner the opportunity to try out a wider array of dishes and it definitely knocks the socks off of the often-time-expected buffet at some events!

We recently had the opportunity to attend their Open House earlier this month. While this was a very special treat on its own, we had the pleasure of Chef Payton Curry being the mastermind in the kitchen that evening. That definitely did not suck! We were invited to dine at the tasting table along with a lovely young couple who were sampling their menu for their upcoming wedding in Sedona next month. They were certainly delightful, and it was refreshing to see two young people so obviously in love, but the food was the real star of the evening without question.

The lovebirds had chosen an amazing menu with the help of the En Blum team:

Fingerling potatoes

You can never go wrong with Caprese to start, in my opinion. The salad we were served was fresh and light and the raspberry chipotle and yuzu vinaigrette was a delightful surprise with just a tiny kick. The shrimp paired with the spicy apple kimchi gave a traditional dish an exciting pop. We rounded out our meal with grilled beef that was so incredibly tender and full of flavor. Definitely a huge hit at our table. The lucky couple was thrilled with the meal and were really excited to be able to share their love of food with their wedding guests.

If you are planning a special event that you want your guests to remember long after the clock strikes twelve, be sure to contact En Blum. They have a list of preferred vendors offering a wide variety of services. The venue itself is lovely in every way and the food is phenomenal, and the chefs will be more than able to accommodate any menu you can dream up!  You can check out their Facebook page to see more pictures of the Open House event.
