CalNaturale: Gluten-free, Dairy-free Protein Shakes & Eco-Friendly Wines

Posted on: August 30th, 2011 by Amy Martin No Comments

Now more than ever, people are becoming increasingly aware of their carbon footprint and food/beverage brands across the globe are making ‘green’ efforts in product manufacturing to give us a hand. These tiny eco-friendly changes aren’t so tiny though. The more people who participate in these “tiny” changes, the bigger effect we’ll have, together. The CalNaturale brand prides themselves on being environmentally responsible, producing all-natural beverages made with organically grown ingredients, packaged in eco-friendly containers. CalNaturale offers protein shakes and wines. So whatever your transgression is, they offer you a smarter choice.

Their line of protein shakes are made with all natural ingredients, and include 16g of protein from organic soy milk, 20% of daily fiber needs along with organic complex carbohydrates for sustained energy, and just 9g of natural sugar. A nice alternative to other high-calorie beverages on the market, CalNaturale is also a more affordable option to replace your usual morning vice. The CalNaturale Svelte brand is available in four flavors:

  • Hello Beautiful (Chocolate) – reminiscent of a chocolate milk shake, but ‘guilt-free’.
  • Just Your Style (Spiced Chai) – ideal for colder-weather months, the warm flavors of Spiced Chai is a great substitute for high-calorie holiday beverages.
  • Looking Good (French Vanilla) – made with pure, organic vanilla.
  • Enjoy Yourself (Cappuccino) – likened to an indulgent cold-coffee beverage, but without all the extra calories.

For adult beverages, CalNaturale offers two wine options: Chardonnay (vibrant and fruity, originating from Mendocino, CA) and Cabernet Sauvignon (full-bodied, originating from Paso Robles, CA). These are the first California wines made from certified organically grown grapes and are packaged in eco-friendly Tetra Pak cartons (lightweight, unbreakable and re-closeable. No wine corks needed). The production and handling of Tetra Pak cartons consumes less than half of the energy and produces less than half the greenhouse gases as the production of traditional glass bottles. Both the Chardonnay and Cabernet are available in 500 ML and 1 liter sizes.
