Posted on: August 23rd, 2011 by Amy Martin No Comments

Calling all tacoholics and tequila lovers: The 2nd Annual Arizona Taco Festival (i.e. taco lover’s paradise, NOT to be missed!) is set for October 15th from 10am-7pm at Scottsdale Waterfront where local restaurants will compete for the highly coveted ‘Best Taco in Arizona’ title. Last year, over 20,000 tacos were dished out in just 6 hours to Arizona’s diehard taco fans. As an event attendee, you can enjoy $2 taco samples, Lucha Libra wrestling, beer donkeys, a Margarita Challenge, hot chili pepper eating contest and more. Bring the kids too as the festival will offer activities for everyone!

The festival just announced the first round of competing taco teams including: Black Chile Mexican Grill, Canteen Modern Tequila Bar, Carte Blanche, Gourmet Tacos, Chelsea’s Kitchen, Chronic Cantina, Dos Gringos, El hefe Super Macho Taqueria, El Toro BBQ, The Heard Museum Café, The Herb Box, Jalapeno Inferno, Loco Patron, Los Olivos, Macayo’s, Mike’s BBQ, Private Rack Gastropub, Ralph’s Snack Bar, Rubio’s, Salty Senorita, St. Francis, T. Cook’s, Teazy Tacos, The Mission, and Wildhorse Grille at Talking Stick with more to come.

Rules for competing can be found on aztacofestival.com. If you’d like to form a taco-competing team for your restaurant, entry forms can be found here.

Who crafts your favorite taco? Make sure your favorite has entered the competition… it’s anyone’s game!

General admission is $10 (kids under 12 are admitted free) and VIP is $100. To purchase tickets, visit aztacofestival.com
