Guide: Weekend Bites March 25th-27th

Planning ahead for your weekend out? We’ve highlighted some of our favorite weekend events to make it a little easier (and tastier!).

Here’s our Weekend Guide for March 25th-27th.

Friday, March 25th

  • 10am-dusk – Arizona Wine Festival at Tempe Festival of the Arts – $12

Twelve Arizona wineries will showcase their wines and offer tastings at this weekend’s Tempe Festival of the Arts, along with sales by the glass, bottle or case. The wine festival has an admission of $12 and includes 6 tastings and a commemorative wine glass. The Fest will be located on 7th Street, just west of Mill Ave. For more information, visit tempefestivalofthearts.com.

Saturday, March 26th

  • 9am-4pm – CupcakeCamp Chandler – FREE

Cupcake Camp Chandler is a free event held at the Chandler Senior Center with the intention to bring the community together for a fun (and delicious) day of cupcake education, mingling with local bakers and the sweet, sweet tasting! Cupcake lovers bring their cupcake creations, and everyone in the community is encouraged to come and sample locally baked goods. For more information, visit cupcakecampchandler.com.

  • 10am-5pm – 2nd Annual Arizona Barbeque Festival – $10 general admission

The 2nd Annual Arizona Barbeque Festival will be held at Scottsdale Waterfront featuring a fierce BBQ competition among 40+ BBQ teams, VIP Tent, Whiskey Row, Cooking Demo Stage, a Kids Zone and more.  For further information or to purchase tickets, visit azbbqfestival.com.

  • Noon-8pm – The Great American BBQ & Beer Festival – $10 general admission

The Great American BBQ & Beer Festival will be held in Historic Downtown Chandler featuring live entertainment, an all ages Kid’s Zone, and a Bike show. For more information, visit chandlerbbq.com.

  • 8pm-10pm – TinyFabKidney Fundraiser at FEZ | Downtown Phoenix

This Saturday, after you’ve had all the BBQ and Cupcakes one person can eat, head downtown to FEZ for a fabulous fundraiser for TinyFabKidney. If you haven’t heard the story behind it all, read it here.  TinyFabKidney proves social media can help save a life!  Join them at FEZ for fun, food, raffle prizes and cocktails. All funds will be used to help with expenses for the upcoming kidney transplant. For more information, view the event invitation.

Sunday, March 27th

  • 7:30pm – “Sunset Cinema” at the Intercontinental Montelucia Resort & Spa – FREE

Montelucia’s new “Sunset Cinema” begins this Sunday – a free outdoor movie showing featuring films set in Europe and Morocco. Sunday’s showing will be “Roman Holiday” (1953). Movies begin at 7:30pm and seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Picnic baskets and other tasty treats are available for purchase. For more information, visit icmontelucia.com.
