Cheers! Ladies Beer Brunch at Talavera

Posted on: January 11th, 2011 by Taryn Jeffries No Comments

I am a simple girl.  I may get my foodie card revoked for saying so, but I will always prefer an ice cold beer to a glass of red or white.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t enjoy wine just that in my opinion, there is nothing that compares to a perfectly composed and poured glass of liquid gold.

Imagine my delight upon finding that the always impressive Talavera has come up with a tasting event right up my alley! Cheers! Ladies Beer Brunch!  On January 30th, Talavera is presenting a special brunch that will be highlighting unique food and specialty beer pairings with AZ Girls Pint Out.

The event will begin with a reception, featuring light hors d’oeuvres and tastings of several locally made beers.  Following the reception, guests will be offered a three-course brunch, with each course paired with a different beer cocktail.  A specialty beer expert will rove from table to table, taking time to explain the pairings and answer any questions.

The menu for the event will begin with a smoked salmon starter, served with an IPA blini, quail egg and caviar, and accompanied by a Hefeweizen beer cocktail.  The entrée is a twist on steak and eggs, served with a chocolate-stout braised short rib hash, and paired with a rich ale and ginger cocktail. Butterscotch cheesecake, with a pretzel crust and candied cashews, ends the meal, joined by a chocolate Guinness cocktail.

This is sure to be an amazing and delicious event, one I cannot miss – and neither should you!

The cost for the brunch is $45 per person, and the event will run from 11am to 1:30pm. Reservations are required.
