Amy Martin

Editor in Chief of PhoenixBites, Amy Martin, is living her dream, actively seeking out new, up-and-coming restaurants and food events to share with our readers. Her previous experience as a freelance food writer awakened a passion within her, inspiring the creation of PhoenixBites.com in August of 2010.
Amy has always had a passion for GOOD food ever since she was young. Her hometown is Claremore, Oklahoma, but also spent some childhood years in Sacramento and Dallas. As a small child, she always looked forward to eating out with her parents at luxurious restaurants for special occasions. If given the choice, she’d choose to eat at her favorite Moroccan restaurant in Sacramento every day. In junior high, she discovered her love for writing. She remembers her very first writing assignment in her English class – “A Favorite Memory”. She relived her absolute favorite Moroccan meal, course by course, on paper and won her teacher’s praise for making her drool!
Now, she enjoys cooking for her own family (some Moroccan dishes even make appearances in her kitchen!) and can usually be found reading vintage cookbooks cover to cover, replicating favorite dishes from local restaurants, or scouring menus. Today, she promotes her favorite restaurants in the city she loves most – Phoenix, Arizona. You’ll find many of her reviews and commentary on PhoenixBites.
Although a Midwest girl at heart, Amy resides in Phoenix with her family. It’s her second time calling this city home, but she plans to stay put!
Some of her favorite restaurants in the area include Prado, FnB, and Different Pointe of View.
