Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame 2014The upcoming week is full of more great culinary events. Which ones are showing up on your calendar? Here’s what is showing up on our calendar for March 30th through April 4th.

The Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame
The Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame, presented by the Scottsdale Culinary Festival and the Scottsdale League for the Arts, will be providing a star-studded soiree held at Livewire. The ceremony will recognize 2015’s best chef, restaurateur and beverage master. All of last year’s recipients (Joe Johnston of Agritopia, Joe’s Real BBW and Joe’s Farm Grill; Craig DeMarco & Lauren Bailey of Upward projects; Aaron Chamberlin of At. Francis and Phoenix Public Market Café; and Micah Olson of Bar Crudo) will be in attendance to award the 2015 tastemakers as well as providing small bites for guests.
There will also be a tribute to the late Glen Humphrey, a leader and icon in the Phoenix Culinary world. A Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to his family. Judith Wolf, a leader in childhood arts education and director of the arts program at Young Arts Arizona will receive the 2015 Alx Simon Award.
The 2015 winners, in addition to being inducted into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame, will be presented with their own trophy and $500 donated to the charitable organization of their choosing.
Tickets are available for $25 and the event begins at 6:30pm. Livewire is located at 7320 E. Indian Plaza in Scottsdale.

Restaurateur of the Year| Mastro’s Family (Steak 44, Michael Dominick’s), Sam Fox (Fox Concept Restaurants), Maggiore Family (Tomaso’s, Tommy V’s, Vivo Ristorante, Cuttlefish) and Larry Foles and Guy Villavaso (Salty Sow, Hopdoddy, Roaring Fork, Eddie V’s)

Phoenix City Grille’s Scotch Tasting Event
Looking for an educational and intoxicating experience? Phoenix City Grille invites you to their Scotch tasting event which is perfect regardless of your current knowledge of the heady libation.
Guests will journey through the various regions of Scotland to explore the wonders of single malt scotch led by Local Scotch Expert, Ken Hartzler. He will also share with guests how scotch is created, what makes it so unique and how to best enjoy it.
Throughout the evening, guests will sample a variety of scotch from each region along with delicious light food pairings to enhance their flavor experience.
The event will begin at 6pm and will cost $30 per guest (including tax and gratuity).

The Salty Sow’s James Beard House Menu Preview
Chef Harold Marmulstein of Salty Sow has been asked back to cook at the James Beard House in New York City on May 7th for the 2nd year in a row. Chef Marmulstein is looking forward to offering up an all new gastropub-infused menu to match his style. For diners unable to attend the May dinner, Chef has created a 5 course menu preview for loyal diner and those new to the restaurant to get a taste of what will be presented at the legendary James Beard House.
The dinner is available for $75 per person and will begin at 6pm. Reservations can be made by calling 602.795.9463,

AZ Wine & Dine4th Annual AZ Wine & Dine
The Valley’s elite Culinary superstars will be gathering from 5 to 8pm for the 4th Annual AZ Wine & Dine event.
Touted as a “Foodie Fest”, the event will be host to 19 of the Valley’s top resort and hotel restaurants as well as several Scottsdale Quarter hot spots and an exquisite sampling of wines and craft beer. Each restaurant booth will feature a winery will be presenting at least 2 different varietals, specifically chosen to be paired with their dishes.
Tickets for the event can be purchased for the event for $65 (through March 31st) or $75 after that (including at the door).
The event will take place at the Scottsdale Quarter, located at 15037 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale.

Hotel Valley Ho Sky Line RooftopRooftop Cigar & Bourbon Dinner
While the weather is still in “Spring” mode, head on over to the Hotel Valley Ho and enjoy their multi-course rooftop dinner, complete with a bourbon bar and three full sized cigars.
The dinner will take place on the panoramic Sky Line Rooftop and begins with a sunset reception and passed hors d’oeuvres at 6:30pm. While enjoying the tantalizing menu you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about Tatuaje and L’Atelier cigars, courtesy of the Cigar King. You’ll also have ample opportunity to savor red wines, a signature cocktail along with a selection of fine bourbons at the bourbon bar.

Scottsdale’s Food Truck Caravan
The Scottsdale Food Truck Caravan is held every Saturday night rom 6:30pm to 10:30pm; each week with a new and exciting line up of food trucks.
This Saturday will find the following food trucks in attendance:
The Lobster Lady, Triple Dot, Saffron JAK, United Steaks of Cheese, Affogato Truck, Windy City Dogs, Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse, Roadriggers, Nicastro Wood Fire Pizza, Queso Good.  The Caravan Café will feature Sugar Jam Bakeshop, Chocolate Van Brugge and Udder Delights.
You can find the Food Truck Caravan on the NW corner of 5th Ave. and Goldwater in Scottsdale.
