Arizona Restaurant Week Preview: White Chocolate Grill

Sep 05, 12 Arizona Restaurant Week Preview: White Chocolate Grill

Arizona Restaurant Week Fall 2012 is just around the corner. From September 15-23 you’ll be able to experience some of the Valley’s best restaurants and their most-requested dishes at a steal. Participating restaurants will offer three-course dinners at $30/$40 per person and many have vegetarian and gluten-free options.

I had the opportunity to preview the Restaurant Week menu at White Chocolate Grill as a part of an ARW preview led by GirlMeetsFork. Check out my thoughts below!

ARW Special:

$29.99/per person for three-course dinner (two person minimum).

First Course (choice of one to share):

  • Four Cheese Spinach & Artichoke Dip served with warm tortilla chips and oven roasted salsa
  • Grilled Artichokes
  • Caprese

Second Course (choose two with choice of side):

  • Citrus-Soy Glazed Salmon
  • Idaho Trout
  • NY Strip
  • Perfectly Grilled Atlantic Salmon
  • Blackened Mahi
  • Rotisserie Chicken and BBQ Ribs
  • Roast Prime Rib

Third Course (choose one dessert to share):

  • White Chocolate Brownie
  • Silky Chocolate Souffle Cake

Highlights of the Meal:

White Chocolate Grill’s superb service and excellent food keep seats filled every night of the week. Dark accents give the space a ‘sexiness’ that I love. Sip on one of their whiskeys with dinner – their extensive selection is impressive.

Their restaurant week menu is also their ‘Date Night Menu’ offered year-round for a taste of most-requested dishes. Of the first course, I chose the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, a perfect shareable starter. I loved the house-made chips and oven-roasted salsa served on the side.

Seven entree course choices satisfy any appetite. I found I couldn’t choose a favorite between the NY Strip topped with steakhouse butter and the Citrus-Soy Glazed Salmon – they were both very good. My steak was tender and juicy and the salmon was moist with beautiful grill marks. The citrus-soy marinade imparted such bright, slightly sweet flavors into the fish. The Israeli Couscous topped with roasted pine nuts is fantastic as a side.

I tasted both desserts offered and loved the Chocolate Souffle Cake the most as it’s served warm and sinfully rich. White chocolate fanatics will love their soft, signature White Chocolate Brownie.

Best Part of the Value:

The NY Strip and Roast Prime Rib are regularly priced at just over $26 making these two entrees a steal – especially when you factor in a large appetizer course to share (normally priced around $10) and a generous dessert.

Service/Ambiance:

Trendy music and a gorgeous bar with a backlit glass display make the White Chocolate Grill a popular date night spot. Masculine stone walls with dark wood panels play against the warmness of the dim lighting, romanticizing the space. Its high ceilings and openness give it an upscale, high-end feel to match the menu.

Service was warm, friendly, and attentive on my visit. Everyone who took care of us was quick to offer personal suggestions and pairings.
